Without doubt, the most consistently finest restaurant in Italy. Each time it seems to get even better which amazes me.
Nadia Santini produces the most magical dishes.
Do try the Dal Pescatore Tasting Menu which included the most amazing Lobster Terrine
Her son Alberto, the sommelier has a vast knowledge and will happily recommend a wine with each dish which are faultless

In the heart of the Morenic Hills, in few kilometers from the center of Monzambano and the main towns of the southern Garda Lake, is staged, the spectacle of nature and of traditional Italian cuisine, in a place enriched by a Terrace in a beautiful courtyard feature, surrounded by a rural environment, where many animals live, designed to accommodate and enhance all the senses. The farm Le Spighe opens its doors to a natural situation and not only catering. During the sweet expectations, sipping an aperitif, it is very inviting to walk and spend pleasant moments in our park: relaxation areas, olive groves, wheat fields and habitats of animals as Emy and Ciuchina, a very nice pair of two female donkeys. On the notes of wines strictly local, and refined tastes prepared by Cristina and Valerio, lovers of good taste feel that they have found their place in which to enjoy the local cuisine of Mantua, always cooked with high quality ingredients, from our land or other small local producers. The environment is traditional, featuring two dining rooms and a Terrace surrounded by nature. Throughout the venue is available for events such as banquets or other important events. High quality, excellent service and atmosphere: a place where the passion for the Italian gastronomic tradition and the territory perform together.
My family and I had dinner at this "agriturismo" restaurant. We were seated outside on the porch, which would not have been our choice, given that we were in the middle of a brutal heat wave, and mosquitoes were rampant (a fan would have remedied both problems). The service was very good, and friendly. I think that the "primi" (first courses) were better than the "secondi"--I am not sure if it is just what we ordered (the duck, which they said was their specialty, but was not as good as we'd hoped), or generally true of the menu. I loved my zucchini crepes (a first course), and the antipasto platter was very tasty and appealing. My kids enjoyed their pasta (with a duck ragout sauce) but the main course duck (served with polenta) was shredded in a salty sauce; we wished we'd ordered something different. I give "Le Spighe" four stars, but my husband would only have awarded three.

Cose Buone: Wineries, cacioteca (local of the Good cheese) and delicatessen. You can sit on comfortable adjustable and lean stools at tables made with wine in wooden boxes recycled as a base have barriques. We serve bruschetta, sandwiches and platters "gourmet" prepared using ingredients of the best artisan producers of meats and cheeses. Hot dishes that follow the seasonality with menu that changes every three months. theme nights. Selection and sale of local products. Packaging and strenne gift not only at Christmas but all year round.
This place definitely worth a visit.
I would rather call it local boutique of excellent quality italian food and great selection of wines. The wine recommendations are always awesome, reflecting the inhouse knowledge and the depth of their collection. They often offer some good deals when you purchase 3 bottles of the same wine.
It always ends up with a great conversation with a couple of owners of the shop, they're extremely kind. You can have a meal here as well or at least a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

One would never expect a place of such quality in such a really strange neighbourhood.
The place is located on the second floor of a former textile factory. That gives you the advantage of good parking.
The access to the place feels somewhat awkward and one would expect some kind of self service rather than a really nice place to eat.
The decor feels as if the owners could not decide on a what they want. Anything between kitsch and industrial. Kind of funny.
On a cold day take a light sweater with you. The extremely high ceilings and large windows make the place feel not sufficiently heated.
Prices are reasonable and the service is really attentive and kind.
When in the area give the place a try. It is worth it!

Scalco Grasso is a new type of restaurant, it looks modern, young and architectural. The kitchen is innovative and offers two menus: typical dishes of Mantova and "scalcherie", the chef's creations. The restaurant is situated between Palazzo Ducale and Palazzo Te, near a big free parking on the main street and outside the limited traffic area.
Very reasonably priced restaurant in Manua with good service. However, I did not really like the two dishes I tried. The beef cheeks were terribly fatty, and the pike was fulk of tiny bones. The crunchy tirimisu was excellent. There were two donkey meat dishes on the menu, a specialty of the region.

WE'D LIKE TO INFORM OUR GUESTS THAT WE ARE CLOSED FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN AUGUST,STARTING ON THE 14th AND UP TO THE 24th. FURTHERMORE, IN AUGUST WE'LL OPEN ONLY FOR DINNER (WE ARE CLOSED AT LUNCH TIME). THANKS FOR YR ATTENTION!
Imagine a dinner evening for a wedding anniversary. Where to go? in the restaurant downstairs where usually we go ... Nooo "that" night we can not go there! ..
While seeking a proper restaurant, I reminded what I heard from a former colleague met recently: "Do you remember Carlo Govi? Well he opened a restaurant in Mantua few years ago, rumors says it's good ....". fast acting , I search for, I find, and I book a table on the fly. If all goes well it will be a success if it goes wrong ... I'll put it in the black list.
We are ready for a trip of 60 km ....
Now I can say for sure: everything went well, very well, we will be back soon with an "important." excuse
The place: it is small size, a few rooms with a few tables each, discreet, no acoustic reverberation, you can talk without raising the voice, indeed seems to bother if you speak in a normal voice, suitable furniture, wall adorned of original famous characters photographs with a common point all pics were taken in Mantova (from football players to celebrities) in the past years.
Reception: Carlo welcomes us in person, exchange of greetings and pleasantries after years away (I am pleased to find people with whom you shared a part of career path). Brings us the menu, uncomplicated, consisting of few courses of Mantua's tradition with a modern twist, he gives us the information we request on food and preparations, and in the end we order a few dishes that attract us more than others:
- Mantua Appetizer:
- Pike soused, dish out menu that evening,
- Fillet of char with sauce of aromatic herbs and crisp vegetables,
and a bottle of fine Bianco di Custoza wine.
Expected short and we They come the ordered dishes ... really excellent for the mix of flavors and the skill of the preparation.
At the end of the dinner we ask and order the desserts, panna cotta (a typical dish of Mantua) and Bronte pistachio ice cream with licorice powder ... a delight .... The bill is not a surprise, the prices listed on the website are the ones that are on the menu ... so no jump in the dark ....
Note, in our room we were the only Italians the other two couples were American and English tourists!

Ours is a small agriturismo, with a maximum of 15 places. In this manner we are able to pay special attention to each client. At the moment of booking we are also able to propose a menu chosen from among the dishes. Paola, the 'kitchen-master', is able to prepare in each season. A proverb has it 'each fruit to its season', to which we add: 'each season its dishes'.
This was the best meal I had in Italy!! I had the pork roast and highly recommend it. The Flan appetizer with some kind of a dill cream sauce was unbelievably tasty, so start with that. Eliodoro is a small family run restaurant that seats only 15 to 20 people. Paula, the chef, prepares only food that is available on the local farms and vineyards. Paula will check up on you throughout your meal. Because its so small, the service is fantastic and Reservations are recommended. One tip, bring your Italian translation book as the family speaks little English. Its not much of a problem and only adds to the great ambiance of eating at this restaurant situated on the family's ancestral land just outside of Roverbella Italy. One of my favorite things about eating here was drinking locally produced red wines and sampling Paula's home made liquors with very interesting flavors such as sage/mint. We left a little tipsy, but it was not a problem since we stayed at the Corte Cornalino B&B next door which is also great. Enjoy!!
