Very enjoyable Sunday lunch, in a very relaxed setting.Rustic decor, with a lovely ambiance.Manolo and Hilda were very welcoming and attentive throughout. The food was very well presented with a variety of vegetables of the season.Thoroughly recommend this restaurant in a beautiful white village in the mountains. The house wine was more expensive than the norm, for the area in general, but was a very good.

We've just had our first meal here following several recommendations from friends, and this is certainly a place to treasure. It's been here since 1983 and looks like a traditional Spanish restaurant, beautifully-kept too, with a bar, indoor and outdoor dining areas and also a glass-sided terrace dining area where we ate - looking out on a hot June evening over the fields below the village and beyond that out onto the side of some of the local mountains, looking at their best on a clear hot sunny evening with a gorgeous light and sharp shadows. The menu is traditional but the food's beautifully cooked - Jenny's pork was some of the best she's ever had, while I was really impressed by the revueltos con verduras I had, which was huge as well as impressively presented as a colourful tower. There aren't a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu but as so often if you ask the waiter what the chef can do, there are usually some really good options. We'd started with a delicious and really varied mixed salad with soft cheese and walnuts too, which was almost a meal in itself. No danger of leaving hungry! It was really quiet when we ate here, on a midweek evening only a couple of days after they'd started their summer opening hours, but without doubt the restaurant will be humming at weekends and especially on Sunday lunchtime, and rightly so. A great place.
Asador con todo tipo de cortes de carne. Las mejores carnes a la Brasa de la comarca de la AxarquÃa. Calidad y precio
We came across the "Asador" by accident one evening. Well the food was rustic and fantastic. All four of us had meat dishes. All cooked on the open fire pit. The pork loins were huge and tasty. And the entrecôte steaks were massive, tender and tasty. Cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are very large, but they do not compromise the quality of the food, great value for money. If we are in the area again, we will return.

Dinner for 3, 2 courses, 80 euros. We have eaten here before and had high expectations. However overall this was a disappointment. The restaurant was busy - especially outside. we chose to eat inside to get away from the UK expats that were camped outside, smoking. Inside its nicely presented and our waitress was very nice and tried very hard. Service was generally good and the place is nice and clean. The food was a bit disappointing. We ordered the special - lamb shoulder. I wonder if this was actually kid meat. It was tasty and quite large. However we were not informed of the price on ordering which i think was a bit cheeky as it was 22 euros a portion. Ok, fair enough, it costs what it costs BUT this is quite a bit more expensive than anything on the standard menu. My son had the duck which was requested pink but came very rare/underdone and consequently chewy, the fat wasn't cooked at all and inedible. The desserts - a mixed bag - the brownie was nice. My wife had a crema catalana which was also described as creme brûlée on the menu - it is not! way too much gelatine making it very rubbery and unpleasant. We should have sent both the duck and dessert back but when you're on holiday you don't like to complain and spoil the mood, so hey ho!Overall, a nice setting - inside and nice staff . Quite nice meal but slightly spoilt by cheek pricing and sloppy cooking in places. Too expensive for what we received.

Visited on tuesday evening beginning august. Had a rumpsteak which was very large but a bit fatty and chips like burger king. Ate inside which was nice and cool or there is a good size outside area with a lovely lakeview. English is understood with quite a few english customers at the time. 70 euros for 3 mains, 2 small beers, 2 glasses of wine and a desert. Not the fantastic place that some rave about but perfectly adequate for a family evening meal.
