The Spanish and English chefs at El Avalon pride themselves in providing modern European food that is influenced by their extensive travels in North Africa and South East Asia. Service at El Avalon is professional and relaxed. We have a fantastic terrace
My partner surprised me with a birthday meal here. We had a lovely table outside with a gorgeous view. The service is just amazing and the staff are so friendly. The food was just superb and really generous portions too. We had a fantastic evening at Avalon and will definitely return next time we stay in Nerja. Thank you to all at Avalon for a wonderful birthday meal.

Spent two wonderful evenings here last week - hard to find fault with anything! The very best carrot soup, silky smooth, beautiful crispy sea bass, great beef with mash, etc etc - we loved it! Friendly and efficient service, wine very good but not over-priced and a lovely ambience with views of the ocean from outside. Simply - the best, thank you Bakus, we will be back when we return to beautiful Nerja.

Restaurant with a modern creative Andalusian cuisine, with a solid traditional base but constantly experimenting with new tastes, textures, techniques and products. The wine list includes wines from all around Spain. The restaurant is very close to Balcón
We visited this restaurant six years ago, and had quite high expectations based on the last experience. And they delivered! Its an informal place that really surprises you with excellent food both when it comes to presentation, taste and creativity.

Visited with my wife for dinner. The place is a bit quirky, no frills. The service was excellent. The wine list is non existing - they have three red wines which are presented as Rioja, Ribera Del Duero and House (which is from the North of Spain, if one asks). We had the house wine, which was decent enough. We shared two starters: Tomatoes, which were good but uneven seasoned. Some segments were doused in salt. We also had the baby gem lettuce, which was fantastic! Both had entrecôte for mains, cooked as requested and really really tender. Melt in your mouth stuff. But partially ruined because mine was super salty. I enjoy salt too much, often put on more, but this was over the top. I still ate it all though... The wife's steak was far less salty, she really enjoyed it. I don't really get the chips.... I don't know, I was expecting more. Maybe I was just unlucky. Dear Sir, thank you very much for your review. Yes, you are right, House wine comes from Burgos, a city in the north of Spain. You chose that one after tasting it, and if you had asked for it, you might have tasted all our wines but you didnât.Regarding the tomato salad, if you had asked, we would have provided you more salt, oil, vinegar or we had even served you a new one if it was not perfect. And finally, concerning the steaks, we went twice to your table to know if they were fine and you said they were delicious. What a surprise to know now that your was too salty, a pity Let me let you know that our goal everyday is our customers to have a great diner and thatâs why we ask several times if everything is fine. If you visit us again in the future, please, do not doubt to increase your communication with our staff.

Walking around Nerja one evening we found Botanic. We ventured through to the rear which was the restaurant. The building and interior are very plush and clearly a cut above the rest for design and ambience.Service was good, however, some of the courses were disappointing. I ordered foie gras, which was clearly a de frosted terrine and was barely edible. My main course of ox tail was delicious. However my wifeâs experience was not as good. She chose a crab starter, which did not look or taste appealing. Her main was much better, but the starters stopped us really wanting to return in a hurry. I hope these are teething problems and they improve in the coming months

Vegan review: Loved this place! Sat upstairs on the terrace. We were served bread and olives and a complimentary tapas dish - mine was vegan, couscous with vegetables. I opted for the houmous and quinoa wrap with salad (could have had it with chips) and it was gorgeously soft and tasty with the addition of sweet chilli sauce. Service was excellent, staff were lovely.

The ambiance of rustic restaurants , with a score of feel-good character , reminiscent of a typical Andalusian restaurant . You can book the restaurant for a family celebration or other festivities.
What lovely service and beautiful food, we really enjoyed our dinner. The gentleman was brilliant with recommendations from menu and looking after our little girl (her teddy even got a high chair!) Highly recommend to visit on at least one night of your stay in Nerja!!!

Full points for this beautiful restaurant! Such a lovely location, service and food we were really happy for everything. We ordered scallops and burrata as a starters, really lovely taste and pretty plating too. The sauce of scallops could have been bit tastier but still nice! Main courses were sea food pasta and gnochhi, both tasty, big enough and fresh! Big plus for the wines, we loved our dry white wine and ribera. Definitely going back on our next trip to Nerja :)

Just had a really tasty lunch here. My oh had the goats cheese salad (without the ham) as he is veggie and I had the Arabian chicken pie, we shared some patas bravas. The chicken pie was amazing you actually get 4 small pies which are chicken with raisins and spices in filo pastry really delicious and the patas bravas were really good. My oh salad was nice too. Definitely worth a visit.
