I recently visited the small town of Alora, situated some 40 kms north of Málaga. The next question you would like to ask is why would one like visit Alora. There is a plethora of answers: (1) you would like to explore villages in the hinterlands of Malaga; (2) you are learning history about the AndalucÃa province of Spain; (3) you wanted a quiet, nice and cheap place to stay as a starting point for visiting the surrounding famous villages/towns such as EL Chorro, Ronda and Setenil and; (4) you have friends/relatives who live or have settled there. In my case, all the four reasons above applied. During my stays, I ended at this little superb restaurant in Alora. Never gotten so closer to an owner and personnel of a restaurant the way I did here. They are very friendly, suggests what to eat and drink and, can improvise upon your request. It is like a home really. When you are in Alora, no need to make your own food â go to this restaurant, it is simply cheap and nice.

After climbing the narrow streets to visit the Moorish castle in Alora, we were a tad hungry! The entrance, down a flight of stairs, was not promising, but we found ourselves in a large airy room with about 20 tables. Being early by Spanish standards, we had the place to ourselves when we arrived, so we chose a table by the window. We ordered a glass of beer and a glass of wine while we looked at the menu - â¬7.30 for a three course meal! We also ordered a bottle of house red. There was no written bill but the waiter charged us â¬23. We'd eaten extremely well and left very contented.

Rotisserie cooking and traditional Castilian breathes air. Among their kitchens, and wood oven, it is made a careful selection of dishes that combine seasonal produce from the garden with the juiciest of meats, not to mention a variety of fresh fish and s
Wow, the lamb, the suckling pig, the steaks and the great starters such as the mushrooms with egg, the artichokes. All of it was absolutely top notch, especially the lamb. The decoration is very nice and the service is good. Wish we lived closer because we want to come back many times.Thank you so much for your comments. It makes us very happy to see very beautiful words about our products and service. Even if you do not live so close, Weâll be delighted to see you again the next time you come here.Best wishes.

I came here with my daughter during a long weekend in the region and we had heart good critics ab. this place. In fact they said that we should try it and that's what we did, without any regret! The owner knows how to treat his clients, and even if you go there for the first time, it feels like coming back.Nice place to sit and because it was a bit to chilly to sit outside, we preferred a cosy corner in what looks like a veranda, but seems like a protected terrace. We love Spain and we like to eat the way Spanish people do and so we prefer several dishes and or tapas and see where we get. We thought of ordering some more afterwords, but the portions were much bigger than expected...We could enjoy our choices of both meat and fish and all drinks were served with a perfect temperature. My girl loved the gamba's piri piri: "They where yummy!"The price was more than reasonable. If this place were in my city, I would love to have my own table there...Muchas gracias y hasta la próxima.!

We came into the restaurant by accident but it was a very pleasant surprise to find out that they were vegan and vegetarian friendly. Their daughter speaks English and she helped us wonderfully. The food is fresh with the finest herbs and creative vegan recipes.

A super lovely way to spend a lunch near Alora! Incredible views and an excellent meal. Decently priced as well. We did not stay at the hotel but it looked like it could be 5 stars. The drive through the Camino del Ray is not to be missed!

Visited twice recently and on each occasion the service and food were brilliant. The tapas is very reasonably priced and cooked to order so itâs fresh and lovely. Large menu so lots of choice and you can see everything prepared inside by the counter. Thoroughly recommend and if your Spanish isnât that great you can pick up an English tapas menu too.

One of my favourite places, as it is close to home as well.It is situated in a very nice location with fantastic view over the mountains and valley. Service is always superb and very attentive to our needs. If you ask for something special, they will try to make it for you.Food is very good with big portions, so no excuse for being hungry after a meal.I recommend this place with honour. Muchas gracias por su visita y por su opinión Henrik, para nosostros es un placer atenderles y nos alegra que haya disfrutado con la visita a nuestras instalaciones:Saludos cordiales de todo el equipo de Hacienda Los Conejitos

Weâd never have found this restaurant but it was recommended by our Airbnb. We went for a long lunch. Had a wonderful experience. Bottle of House wine, bread, two fabulous main courses (monkfish and steak) a chocolate brownie, coffees brandy and cava for 70e. Best meal weâve had on our trip. Great service too.

Visited this restaurant several times during our stay in Ãlora, delicious food and value for money unbelievable, staff work really hard and the female waitress is extremely friendly, we donât speak much Spanish but do our best to try and I think itâs appreciated, Andalucia Day was particularly busy but they worked like trojans to accommodate all of their customers.
