Service was very ordinary, just because it looks busy does not mean a thing. We had the meat & pickles plate to start, slimey meat & mushy veg, Onions & soggy bruschetta, The gnocchi in sauce was cold & tasteless. The tuscan stew was ok but at â¬16 a dish was expensive...Definitley not the best place to eat dinner..

Great meal not too expensive good wine. Little off the tourist path and worth visiting. Veal with tuna and caper sauce was excellent. Worth a detour

When arriving in our holiday villa we decided to eat out. The house owner referred us to the osteria. Somewhat reluctantly patron Andrea accepted our reservation of 18 people the same night. The contrast with this reluctance couldn't have been bigger compared to the reception upon arrival. Malika treated us enthusiastically and warm. The food was great as well was the prosecco and wine.Andrea regularly checked up on us regularly. We had a wonderful night and most definitely will come back. Thank you Malika and Andrea!

The name suggests that there may be lots of delicious soups available here, well the soup was nice, but there is only one choice on the menu daily. Bowl of soup each and five pieces of bread to share between the three of us plus a drink each came to euro46 so not really a cheap eatery. The Buddha plates and vegan options looked OK, but again euro12 for raw vegetables and pulses with little preparation seemed a little expensive. There are definitely better options even on the same square.Note also that the Manager shooed away a couple of ladies who just wanted drinks at lunch time...even though the place was half empty. He waited until they had got sat right down at fairly cramped tables before informing them. I would not recommend or go there again.

I had been there 3 years ago and it was so good. And now: Ravioli in an convinience-food-version. Burro i salvia not well done. This restaurant lost its soul and is below the average of the restaurants in Lucca.

We booked a table after seeing how busy it gets. We knew we were in for a treat. Beautiful fresh foods. Cod was stunning. Pizza delicious and hamburger was made from prime meat so when my teenage son got a bit worried about it we just asked and the lovely guy serving us. As an adult we teach our kids that hamburgers should not be rare. BUT this stunning place create the most amazing smoked beef tartare so we knew they understood food and not to worry. All the same the restaurant was so lovely and cooked it through a little more for our son. All in all a wonderful experience. They were very busy and to turn tables a little faster. Waiters could advise that payment could be made at the table OR at the bar. We waited a while for our bill and so did the table next to us. No big deal though. Affordable beautiful food and fantastic service. Drinks, mains, dessert for 4 people â¬92

We offer a dining experience that goes beyond the plate, incorporating history and traditions, ethics and sustainable agriculture into each dish. We carefully select products from our local bounty, using local products whenever possible. Alda is a talente
Discovered this restaurant thanks to our host in Capannori who recommended it and I must say that going there for Valentine's Day was the perfect choice and led to an amazing evening. The restaurant was decorated with delicate and romantic touches for the eve. We arrived very early as soon as it opened at 7.30pm and the manager and waitresses were very welcoming and friendly. There was a varied menu with very worthwhile prices. The waitress brought us some complimentary pumpkin soup which I really enjoyed. Then, we ordered the 'Salumi' platter as an appetizer between us, which gave us the opportunity to sample some local delicacies. But the best was yet to come! I must admit I fell in love with the starter - a cheesy risotto with tasty sausage. I slowly relished every mouthful and honestly think I have never eaten a more delicious risotto in my life! Our main course consisted of pheasant marinated in oranges - again, mind-numbingly good! In the end, I was so full that I had no place for dessert, however I have no doubt it would have been excellent as well.Truly an evening to remember! Thank you I Diavoletti! I will mention the place to whoever is about to go to Tuscany!

Looking at the other positive reviews, it might be so that we were unlucky that evening, but we had a very disappointing diner at Osteria Da Mi Pa. We were a group of 14, on a sunday night, we had booked in advance and we were the only guests. Nevertheless we had to wait a very long time before we got served. The food was not good (I had 'Tempura chicken and rabbit with vegetables' there was no rabbit at all in it). The young waitress was friendly, but the owner was very unpleasant when two other persons in the group told him that there dishes were not good.

Lucca is littered with restaurants for the typical tourist. This is not one of them. The staff is very friendly. If you don't like the wine they suggested they will more than happy bring you an alternative. The food is excellent and well prepared. All the typical Italian dishes are available, but they taste better than the run of the mill restaurants you will find nearly anywhere. Try the Tiramisu. Although is lacks the almond liqour and egg as ingredients, it tastes as good or even better than your standard Tiramisu. A nice surpiseThank you so much, we really appreciate your words; we are so happy to see our efforts rewarded by such a good review; you got exactly the point of what our mission and commitment are: being different, alternative and not one of those "fake italian" restaurants where tourists are ripped off by stereotyped hosts in a kind of amusement park venues. We hope to see you soon again maybe even in our Pisa restaurant.Best regards
