We ate here twice last week, excellent pasta and pizzas, good service and very, very reasonable prices; they even understood our very rusty Italian. Seems to be as popular with the locals as with tourists which I think is a good sign. Unfortunately they had a fire which has closed them for a while but hopefully they'll reopen before we leave on Saturday.

Our family of six adults stayed in Montemagno for 10 days at the end of June, and we visited this restaurant three times. On each occasion we were welcomed and shown to our table of choice. The mixed antipasta was huge and delicious - enough for at least 3 people. All of the antipasta, primo, secondo and pasta dishes were cooked freshly and were all very tasty. There was a wide selection of main courses. The service was excellent; always friendly and discrete, and the prices were very reasonable. A bottle of house wine (red, white or rose) was only â¬6 and a litre carafe was only â¬10. And it was absolutely fine! Well worth a visit if you are in the area as this restaurant is in Montemagno, on the road from Lucca to Camaoire.

The restaurant is quite remote, but the drive (which is also quite picturesque) is well worth it. The menu is very simple - there are traditional antipasti and there are pizze. But the pizza is absolutely great. I try to go to Il Cardo every time I visit Tuscany (every year) and I have never been disappointed. Please note that during the high season you have to book well in advance. This place is extremely popular and most visitors are locals. The only word of caution is that you should resist and try not to get full on the delicious thin bread that they bring you for free with your drinks. ;-)

We visited Trovaposo which was recommended by an Italian lady working in our hotel. Really good place for pizza. They also have other Italian food, but we only ordered pizza. This is a typical Italian restaurant family fully consistent with our conceptions, as it should look like a family pizza restaurant in a small Italian village. and to do so in the best possible way. Very nice traditional interior, nice, but not intrusive service ... delicious pizza. I recommend to all pasing nearby Barga!

Nice place in a medieval-ish environment, if you want to taste the local specialty "Tordelli" or The VERY abundant antipasto, this is the place for you, the staff might seem a bit rude(nothing extreme, just to reassure you), but it's part of the medieval osteria-like experience they offer. I'm happy to eat there when i have the opportunity.

In spite of being a local in-and-out throughout my years, I went to this restaurant in Nocchi, Camaiore, for the first time and quickly realised I've missed a very warm and typical village restaurant, or better "osteria", which offer a valid alternative to what else is on offer in the area. The restaurant is set in an old stone building, cool in summer and I guess warm in winter by looking at the size of its large fireplace. A very nice open terrace compliments the rest of the area, where you can dine in summertime.Don't expect a high class restaurant menu and indeed this is not why you come here in the first place. Instead honest and earthy dishes are offered in the set menu that change according to availabilities, and what's better than this? The pizza is also a very nice alternative indeed.Well done.

The property located on the Camaiore hills against the backdrop of the great Romanesque church of Pieve from which the restaurant takes its name serves local dishes and Tuscany: the delicious homemade ravioli and tordelli and the delicious meat of choice
Visited twice as short walk from villa and sat outside. Good atmosphere very good Tasty pizza and liked Brunello wine. Service ok until after main course after that poor as took ages to give menu coffee dessert and Bill! Language difficulty not a problem with some words, phrase book or translate App. Popular busy trattoria with good evening atmosphere with locals and worldwide visitors in quiet village.

Cucina tipica toscana accompagnata da un poâ di innovazione sempre mantenendo un rapporto con la tradizione, carta breve per poter garantire la freschezza e la preparazione al momento dei piatti. Pizza fatta usando solo farine e lieviti italiani. Puntiamo

Fab restaurant. Run by a hard working family that have make this a local institution. Tucked in the hills about 25 minutes from Lucca. Good range of meat and fish dishes, all local. Super friendly staff. Interior is smart, spacious. Posh vibe but you can dress informally. Used for wedding parties. Large balcony. Large parking lot.
