Fresh and contemporary cuisine directed by the executive chef Marco Zucconi. The culinary proposition is a symphony of flavors with amazing details. Research and innovation are based on a careful selection of raw materials, which prefers seasonal ingredie
We went as a group of 5 and had a reservation which is a must. The server was very patient as she explained all the offerings on the menu which was in Italian and due to the uniqueness of some of the offerings, we could not guess. They have a very extensive wine list and the server, who mentioned she was also a sommelier, recommended some local wines which were really, really good. All of our meals were wonderful and there was a lot of passing around tastes. The hit of the evening was suckling pig which was wonderful, so tender and tasty. Really a nice evening at a nice restaurant.

At Allosteria you can enjoy Traditional Tuscan dishes in a 12th century building in the center of Lucca, a few steps from the Giunigi Tower. Try our Tordelli (homemade filled pasta with bolognese sauce) and Fiorentina Steak with potatoes. I recommend to d
We were recommended at our Accommodation to try this one.Good choice. Easy to find and classic Italian decor. Lots of artefacts decorating Cellar restaurant. We were 2 British couples and had a variety of dishes between us. Menu very comprehensive and staff very chatty and helpful with choices, including a good Italian red to wash it down.We even got free Digestif with our coffees after the meal.Highly recommended.

A cute outdoor cafe that is open late at night when everything else was closed. We arrived in Lucca late in the evening and by the time we went out to dinner, nothing was open. We strolled though the town and found this cute outside cafe that was serving
It had been five years since we last enjoyed a meal at Paris Boheme. The food was just as good and Luis is still an engaging, delightful host. We both had pasta and a delicious mixed salad for lunch. We can't wait to take friends there for lunch or dinner. Be prepared to wait in the evening this is a very popular place!

'Gatta' is the one restaurant I booked before we arrived in Lucca. Firstly, the service is delightful. The two ladies at front of house could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We were late arriving and they were very accommodating despite the place being quite busy. The decor is fun and the place is nice and bright. We chose a tasting menu based on fish and seafood. There are some unusual combinations and bright ideas. It started really well with fantastic home baked breads, all nicely seasoned and a lovely amuse bouche of apple and celeriac puree. The soup was a nice, traditional one of Tuscan beans with salt cod and it was tasty but, like the following courses, it was a bit under seasoned for our taste. Despite this, I really enjoyed the following dish of freshwater fish with courgette, pumpkin, balsamic and olive oil - it was beautifully fresh tasting. Neither if us much liked the next pasta dish although I did eat all of mine. The pasta was too 'al dente' for our taste and the sauce a little bland. Seared tuna was next and this time, the seasoning was not too bad but I often find tuna a little disappointing. I was hoping this would be different but I must just have a problem with tuna! Fortunately, desserts were truly delicious and (along with the bread) the highlight of the meal. I still give quite a high rating as I enjoyed the evening very much and the 'seasoning' issue is a personal one. My partner is a chef and I know that chefs vary quite considerably when it comes to this. Also, we could have asked for extra salt - it was a pity there was none on the table. We were asked about food allergies and preferences at the beginning which is always a good thing. I would still recommend 'Gatta'. Its a great experience and a different one in Lucca.

Osteria Canaiolo is located inside the park Hotel Hambros in Lunata a few kilometers from the city of Lucca
We had dinner here tonight and it was delicious. As we arrived there were people standing out side on the terrace. It felt more friendly and local than touristy. The service was friendly and open - and the host (owner?) speaks english. We stupidly forgot to ask his name. The food was simply divine. We had two pasta primo - green ravioli with ricotta and a seafood carbonari. For secondi I had a tuna in a Japanese style and my brother had beef. The tuna was delicious with a flavour I wasn't expecting and the beef was melt in your mouth perfect, tender and flavourful. My sister had the fish and chips and they were happy to do it grilled for her. There was a family group of 22 plus another group of maybe 8, and a few smaller tables like ours and they seemed to do very well bringing out food for the whole table at the same time. Because of the large group the service was a little slow, particularly to get our bill, but we totally understand the challenge of such a large group and agreed that they handled it very well. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and want a delicious meal, reasonable price and friendly, tasteful atmosphere.

A meal here is an exceptional experience - the each evening's set menu allows ingredients to shine. The wines on offer allow a good complement. The service is warm and friendly. The assortment of torte desserts a nice summary to a great dining experience. The friendly service and owners' attention to the curiosity of the diners about the dishes and their preparation was a pleasure to experience.

As a frequent visitor to Lucca, I have my favourite restaurants - but decided to try this new restaurant. I had booked a table outside on the terrace facing the Puccini museum. The service was great - and the food served, while typical of Tuscan food & Lucca specialities - had a special twist, superbly presented in the plate, and really delicious. This place will join my list of favourite restaurants!

This is a welcome new addition to the fast food scene in Lucca. It is a sort of mixture between British toasted sandwiches, American short order deli-style and traditional Italian panini.Prices are from around 4.00-6.00 euros for hot sandwiches using different types of bread and finished off in the microwave. We chose one of the newer combinations written on paper hanging down from the counter, and a more traditional filling but with French fries. The packaging is also very clever and you can eat it indoors, sitting down or standing by a shelf. It has only been here 9 months so it has made an impact quickly.Definitely recommended.Athyoz we thank you for your review.
