Had tapas here and the patatas bravado was amazing, the blond haired waiter was also incredibly helpful, helping us with the menu

I liked the selection of local dishes on offer. We had the set-menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the french onion soup which is prepared with butter. The sausages were very flavorful. The portions were very large, the house wine very drinkable and price excellent. The dining room's decorations made me feel like I was in a quaint ski hut.The service was attentive and friendly.

On the recommendation of friends who live in the region, we made the short drive from Sort to Llessui taking-in the picture postcard villages of Altron, Sorre and Saurà on the way. After a visit to the Ecomuseu dels Pastors - more interesting than the idea of a musuem dedicated to shepherds might initially suggest - we arrived for our pre-booked lunch at 2pm. The restaurant is not small but gets pretty busy, so booking ahead is not a bad idea.Catalan food is pretty hearty and filling at the best of times and the further away from the coast you go, the meatier and heartier it seems to get. The owners of Casa Kiko are butchers as well as restauranteurs and told us that they prepare all the meat on the menu in-house.The results are amazing. To start, we shared a platter of cold cuts and cheese. No faffing around with pre-prepared slices, you get a chopping board and knife and are welcome to cut off as much formatge, secallona, llonganissa and bull blanc as you like. They bill you based on what's left - and expect you to tell them when you're done, no rush. With the unlimited bread, pate and alioli de cordony on the side, it's easy to leave nothing at all, but the best is yet to come. The main course offers a raft of locally sourced meats, we had cabrit and pollà - and aubergines stuffed with meat and wild mushrooms; all delicious. The easy-going, no hurry atmosphere gave us time to digest just enough meat product to create space for the wonderful home made puddings - top prize went to the house special baked alaska with home made ice cream flambeed with whiskey.Service was friendly and informative - the menu needed a bit of explaining - and the surroundings are homely and comfortable.Excellent value for money, we paid around 35 euros a head, wine included. And didn't feel the need to eat another thing until breakfast the next day!

We are so glad that we found this place. They make great pizza with different toppings. We had two dinners in this restaurant. Each time we ordered different pizzas and dishes. All their pizzas were really good with thin crust and the right amount of cheese and toppings. We also tried their goat cheese salad which was good, the vegetarian lasagna (great) and the canaloni (not as good as the pizza). Very good and welcoming stuff. Menus in few languages, but don't worry, it's not a tourist trap.

Visited Sort with my lovely step daughter who lives in Barcelona. She'd heard that there was a Michelin Star restaurant and there it was. 50 metres from our hotel. The lunch was a set menu for â¬35. Maybe a bit more than you'd normally pay for lunch.the taster menu was â¬70. I thought it was ok. Anyway, the owner was a true professional. We had 3 hor d'ouvres type tastings before our starter, main course, dessert and coffee. The restaurant describes its food as 'slow food'. The flavours and quality of the food was excellent. Although the place was quiet to start it gradually got busier. Mine host took the time to explain in detail the origins of the dishes, the ingredients and the cooking process. He spoke a bit of English but thank fully Dania speaks Spanish. I'd recommend and return.

One of the best places I've ever been to! Nothing posh, very traditional, local place. Huge portions, low prices and everything extremely tasty. We visited in August 2014 and after being ignored and not served in another restaurant in the nearby town we decided to go to this one as there is no a vast choice of places to eat something in LlavorsÃ. We've ordered 2 platos combinados â¬8,50 each(humongous plates with salad, meat of your choice - we took chicken and lovely lean pork steaks - 2 fried agges and chips), hamburgesa completa (â¬5.20) which is a gigantic hamburger with chips and fried egg inside (!!!). Also we tried fried squid and it was fantastic. The only downside is the waiting time for the food to be served but I learnt that this is very common in this area to wait for up to 30mins for your food to be served.Overall fantastic and highly recommended!
Simplemente no me dejaron sentar EN LA TERRAZA.

English veggies travelling in Spain with just a smattering of Spanish. The waitress/owner managed remarkably well by being really friendly and accommodating. Being the first in when it opened at 21.00 the atmosphere was somewhat lacking but we were hungry and couldn't wait to eat at Spanish time and we left happy and full. Mid price but good value. Of you're staying in Beautiful Tirvia, it's the only place to be (literally).
