went there on account of a recommendation on the eve of the semifinals of the euro soccer championship. I was there to celebrate a special occasion with my fiancee and we were utterly dissapointed. we had plate of bruscetta, small pieces of italian baguette with a variety of topping. I have no idea how a cook could mess up a simple antipasti like this but each one of the four pieces of bread was hard as a rock and toasted so badly that it was partially black. as a main course we each ordered a pizza, this place was supposed to be famous for their pizza. I had a quattro stagioni. each one of the toppings was worse than the others. the olive were out of the can and tasted like nothing and everything else was out of the can as well. the worst thing about my pizza was that the ham was obviously expired. it tasted like it had been expired for quite a while and I could not eat any further because I was so close to vomitting. I am not kidding!! DONT EAT AT THIS PLACE EVERmy fiancee ordered a calzone and the dough on the top of the pizza was raw. it smelled like yeast and it looked like mozzarella. even though we were only at the place for about an hour we were served by three different waiters. one of them, a middle aged women gave us the impression like she hated us - every single time she came to the table. what a horrible experience. I would like to point out, that I am not a gourmet and that I dont have special requirements for being a satisfied restaurant customer. I have also eaten my fair share of pizzas in my life and so has my girlfriend, who lived in italy of more than a year. we have never eaten such a bad pizza. This review can not be referred to us because we are not a famous pizza restaurant since we are mainly a fish restaurant that also serves only 6 types of true napolitan pizza, because on our pizza menu there's not the "4 stagioni" nor the "calzone" and we never served bruschetta (or bruscetta), but also because the only woman waiter is a very kind 22 years old girl. Maybe the user mistaken the restaurant with another "Giardino degli Aranci" since they are many other in Italy. Our restaurant is located in ISOLA D'ELBA, TUSCANY. We are sorry that the customer had such a bad experience, but it's an evidence that this was not in our restaurant.

Sailed into Porto Azzurro and stumbled on this restaurant. Biagio spoke good English, his cooking was first class and he does gluten free pasta. He made me an excellent GF Fusilli alla Vongole which I had not been able to have for years. The fish was good and a sensible wine list. Would happily go again.

Nice lunch during our visit in Porto Azzurro.Local is deep in the city center and it looks like a pub (we appreciated that). We ordered local food like panzanella and spaghetti with anchovies and wild fennel, accompanied with Vermentino wine.Thank you!

Definitely a stunning view and great meat.We have decided to have a dinner at the restaurant and were amazed by the tagliata with black truffles. For sure one of the best dinners in Porto Azzurro.

I would recommend this restaurant, but it was not without flaws. Some dishes were terrible (the Caprese was the worst we've had), and others were excellent (the Tuscan soup.) The wine list was great with many options at a wide variety of prices, and the waiter seemed to really know his wines (although, because he spoke Italian and we spoke English, much of what he had to say went over our heads.)The service was attentive, and nice -- until we asked for the check at which time we seemed to be forgotten. We had to ask three different people over a 45 minute span before we could get the check.Overall though, they seem to have blown some of the easy stuff, and done the hard things well. This could be a much higher rated restaurant with a little more attention to detail.

Stayed 3 weeks in Elba. This was surpassing our expectations. We just turned off the road as the kids were starving. The staff was very helpful translating the menu which was only in Italian. The menu was a fantastic change in choice from other restaurants. Duck, veal, and lamb feature alongside classics as wildboar pappardelle. Hearty and lovely. Wine from the estate on offer, all by the glass. Will return.

2 Air-conditioned indoor rooms, pets, specialty fish soup, fried but not suggest everything is cooked in a wood oven dishes, side dishes, desserts, pizzas and a much healthier return to the good taste of the food of other times, pasta homemade selection o
Climbing down steps to below street level, you feel as if you entered a pirates cove. Maritime decor, stone walls, fisherman's nets and paraphernalia. A tiny restaurant with lots of atmosphere. We were early before the evening rush-hour. The service very good and I had the best gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce I have ever eaten. My hubby had a pizza. We did not eat their house speciality, a seafood soup but it looked divine.

Botte Gaia was recommended by locals and they were right. They serve Italian food they way Italians appreciate it. Straight forward and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. Botte Gaia is often fully booked. We made our reservation early. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious meal on Elba.

Wandering around the restaurants on offer and noticed this pub/bar. Looked at the menu and decided a Napoleon burger would suit. Then we discovered a great range of drinks. On tap was a Corsican beer, Pietra, that I had not tasted before. Had two and both were excellent. My wife had an Aperol Spritz and immediately noted that the Prosecco was freshly opened. This is not fine dining and doesn't pretend to be. It is excellent quality dishes (should see the tasting plate!!) and good service. Highly recommended.

Er
The coziest and nicest place in the town and specially thanks to Christina, who was really sweet and attentive each time we visited the place. She recommended us the best wine I had in Elba(Elba Rosso Riserva 2008 by vineyard Acquabona). There are many choices of delicious bruschette in a very peaceful atmosphere. Don't hesitate, visit the place and don't forget about having the wine!
