Find out what Central American restaurants to try in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Only real-deal surfers should brave the torrid waters of Puerta Viejo de Talamanca, known both for their beauty and for their dangerously strong riptides. Surf’s especially up at Salsa Brava and Playa Cocles. Not to fear—the rest of you water bugs can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking and diving in the calmer waters of Cahuita or Manzanillo. Rent a mountain bike to coast to Manzanillo for a full, fun experience.

We 3 had a tasty dinner at Mopri. My husband really enjoyed his grilled snapper and said it was not greasy at all. Our son liked his calamari and my fish burritos were tasty and plumb full with pieces of fish and avocado.

A family business serving Local Food Since 1980. Slow food cooked with love and the caribbean flavor!
Excellent food! Hubby and I enjoyed lunch here one afternoon in July. They served the best Rondon soup Iâve ever had! Hubby also enjoyed his red snapper. We tried to return another night for more soup but they were closed that night. Lovely open-air setting, good service, reasonable prices, free wifi, easy side-street parking. We appreciated having actual ketchup for our fries. I also liked that they had a sink outside the bathrooms so we could easily wash our hands before eating. Itâs only 1 of 2 restaurants that we (tried) to eat at twice during our vacation. We will definitely return when we visit Punta Uva again! We highly recommend Selvinâs! *Thank you for reading my review! Please click the âthumbs-upâ below. :)

The family goes to work to prepare fresh cooked food in short order. We had arroz y frijoles con pollo. The chicken was marinated, tender and falling off the bone. A hot sauce with carrots and onions iis served to spice up the beans and rice. We were warned it was spicey but not so for Nuevo Mexicanas. Want to return and try the camarones and the pie de Limon. Service was more than excellent. A little off the main road; look for the sign. Opens promptly noon.

The restaurant is right in the centre of Puerto Viejo and was recommended by the owner of the B&B where we are staying. The ambiance was of reggae/ afro-Caribbean and the staff were super friendly. The rice and beans with chicken were excellent! Highly recommended and highly popular with tourists and locals alike

Small family owned restaurant in town. I don't thing there are any street addresses there.
Fantastic Gluten Free Caribbean Good! Showed them my GF food card and they suggested what I could and couldn't eat. I had the beef with onions - delicious! Rice, plantains, salad, YUMMY! Good large portions too! The plantains with guacomole were so good we ordered another.

Traveling for almost a month in Costa Rica, by FAR(!) the best place we ate in.The atmosphere is amazing, our host was so helpfull and kind, the food was fabulous, the drinks were excellent, and the service felt so professional. We had guys coming in every few minutes to wipe the water coming out of the drinks on the table (not in a wierd way), always checking in with us, got a small treat from the kitchen as a desert since we were really full, and such a smiling host.. She made our night. The prices are reasonable for the food and overall value. this should be your first restaurant choice in the area.

Doesn't look like much, but we were happy with the food. The water based smoothies (they have milk based as well) are not watered down, and in particular the passion fruit smoothie was heavenly.
