We have stayed in many Paradores for their historical sites and buidings, and in almost all of them the food was mediocre, but this one was terrible. First: the restaurant in this 'modern' Parador (non historic) is located on the worst location in the building: no views at all on the surrounding beautiful mountains. The interior decoration probably hasn't been updated in 40 years: it is non descriptive 'kind of historical'. The restaurant is quite large and is visited by mostly senior hotel guests. The food was non typical, badly executed, missing anounced ingredients and tasteless. Except for the dessert of tea parfait, which was very good. But the service was the worst. Non attentive, non professional, chaotic. Customer unfriendly way of organising the tasks, F.e. only one lady who could take orders. Orders weren't taken in order of entrance. Young servants didn't have a clue about customer service. And in the end the bill was incorrect. There aren't (m)any other options for dinner nearby, and that's probably the reason that this restaurant still receives guests.

The Hotel del Oso's restaurant offers top-quality cuisine based on the freshest seasonal produce and traditional Cantabrian dishes such as its celebrated cocido lebaniego, a local stew whose core ingredients are pork, beef, chickpeas and spring greens, fo
I stayed in the hotel for a week and dined at the restaurant twice. The food was universally excellent, with every member of our group being entirely satisfied with their choices. Portions are super generous- this seems to be a theme of restaurants in this area. Take your time, enjoy the mountain cuisine and use the energy to hike higher and further the next day.

Far better prices and menu than Parador - we booked the Parador expecting the price but the food choice was very poor - this was a lot better so all ratings are vs the Parador.

Totally enjoyed meal served before walking trail along river gorge. Had a real "family feel" with home-made soup, salad, wine, bread, dessert... Arranged for group lunch the night before by phone... Freshness demonstrated by local gardener who happened to arrive with heads of fresh lettuce as we were ending meal. Given that this is a little off the beaten path the prices and available menu was wonderful.

We visited after taking a ride on the cable car at Fuente De. The restaurant was very inviting and we had a hearty and delicious meal. Service was warm and fantastic. We were even offered a complimentary local liqueur at the end of the meal. Highly recommended for a local and heartwarming meal!

Breakfast as good as anywhere on our 2 week trip in the Picos and better than most. The evening meal I had was delicious, the local venison stew. It is a family run business and the wife holds certificates in local cooking as displayed in the restaurant. Would recommend this restaurant without a doubt. We enjoyed our 2 nights here. The first night we were tired after a hard day in the Cares Gorge followed by the drive here so we just ate our own cold food outside on a restaurant table which was offered to us to use.
