Bistro Le Monde

I hadn't been to Bistro Le Monde for a while, so it was time I had a return visit! The food and service were as excellent as they had been before. This time we had been to the cinema nearby and were in time for the early bird menu which finished at 7.30 p.m. - good value at €21.95 for two courses. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc @ €24. I had the garlic prawns for starters and hake to follow, while my friend had their Le Monde salad to start, followed by the beef Bourguignonne. We both enjoyed our meals and had time to get the Dart to our respective homes.Again I was surprized that the restaurant was not packed - the food is so well presented and delicious. We discussed what improvements could be made to entice more people in and my friend said she would consult another friend for ideas!Hi Margo37, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review. We are delighted you enjoyed your meal with us. We take pride in only serving the best! Thank you for your kind words. We hope to see you again soon, Kind regards,Bistro Le Monde

I had to grab a sandwich one day recently but I decided to sit in and enjoy my sandwich in peace and savour my coffe in a regular cup rather than a paper one. I was glad I did because not only was the sandwich excellent the service was swift and friendly and all options were explained to me. Sandwich bars tend to be places where you order to go but it is nice to savour the smells of the food on offer and watch the world go by. There is lots of seating available but as I observed the majority of the clients were rushing and not sitting. Such a pity really, as it is a nice coffee shop in the middle of Bray. I will be back.

We found this small cafe more by look than design, it is rather tucked away. It is situated on the first floor of the furniture store in a small retail park near Bray.We queued to order our food, however, the lady serving was more interested in having a chat with a customer rather than taking orders from the lengthening queue. We ordered 2 soup, Mexican bean and a scone and an espresso. The soup was served with 3 slices and 3 of different types of bread, and cost £5 each, it was hearty and tasty.A scone with butter and jam was €2.60 and an espresso  €2.50. The scone was a bit doughy, heavy, a bit under cooked, good coffee. It was popular for take aways Looking out the window was a wonderful view of the Dublin mountains.Would have given this a rating of very good had the service been better and the scone was up to scratch, however, there is no rating on TripAdvisor for good so average is about right for this visit.Hi David,All of us at Red Bird Cafe were very surprised by your review which would not remotely reflect the sentiment of our customers. We're glad you tried our cafe and left a review as we have the attitude that all cafes can get better and continual improvement is something we strive for. However, if something isn't up to scratch, we have a policy to fix it then and there no questions, no quibbles. It is rare that this happens but we do everything to keep our customers happy and to respond straight away. Unfortunately, you do need to tell us if something isn't to your liking as we feel it's a bit unfair to leave a review without giving us the opportunity to fix any issue you may have. We would have happily changed or replaced your scone. Our scones are baked from scratch every morning in our cafe and are so popular that we have customers phoning us in advance to put some away for them. If there was something wrong (in three years, we have't had one single complaint about a scone) we would fix it. And we would ask that you give cafes and restaurants that you visit the opportunity to do this in respect of fairness. We were fortunate to be nominated for Best Cafe In Wicklow in the Irish Restaurant Awards 2018 - a national award system that ensures you can only be entered by genuine customers. With regard chatting to our customers. We're delighted to say that about 90% of our customers are repeat visitors - we know them and having a friendly chat is something imporant to both us and them. In an industry that is increasly being dominated by multinationals and chains, these relationships are increasingly imporant. Thanks again for your feedback.

Cowfish

I just returned from Cannes. Who knew that I would experience better French cuisine in Bray than France. Everything was so thoughtfully prepared and presented. The scallops were delicious and arrived tucked into their shells bursting with flavor. Carrot beet salad was gorgeous. Needed a little salt but was happy to sprinkle it on myself. Cocktails and wine were divine and dessert! Grilled French peaches with merengue and mouth watering fruity accompaniments. I had one bite left and someone attempted to take my dish. Well poor thing, I nearly bit his arm off (sorry!). Ok and last but not least, the staff! They were all amazing. So attentive and friendly and knowledgable. I will definitely be back!!!Hi pattyish,Thank you for taking the time to review Cowfish and for your kind words. We've worked very hard on our new menu and we're delighted to hear that you enjoyed it - the scallops are one of my favourite dishes too :)We hope to see you again soon.Best,Aisling

Nice decor, very friendly service, good location right on the strand. Good parking in front. I had the duck. It was excellent. My wife had the fish and chips. Unfortunately, the fish was over cooked. I suspect that was a fluke because everything else seemed to click very well. I recommend the place and would enjoy returning. Hi DJB25Thank you for writing this review. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your visit to Ocean Bar & Grill but we are disappointed to read about the fish. Hopefully you will visit us again and enjoy another delicious meal.Kind regardsEmily
