I love seafood so my husband booked us in here. I think I might have died and gone to heaven. Classy decor.As well as a fabulous a la carte menu as we were early there was also a pre 18:30 menu which we chose from, but both looked superb. Such quality service too. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and waiter was so attentive. A big thank you to our sommelier Victor for making us feel so at home. The Gewürztraminer was truly lovely!Faultless food, beautifully cooked and presented. Well worth every cent. We had lunch at the fish shack, the service was quick, but the food was not good. We had the platter for two and a half dozen oysters. The oysters weren't cleaned or shucked properly, so we are what we could with forks and left the rest, because there was barnacle residue. The cajun prawns were over cooked also. The manager took the oysters off our bill and said she had a new book, but that he was very good. There is no way a "very good" cook in a seafood restaurant can't cook or shuck oysters. I guess that is why the restaurant was empty - Dubliners know better!

Local hotel recommended Boxty for great fish and chips on our first night in Dublin and it truly was the best and really set the bar high for all others meals in Dublin. Fish was crunchy, not greasy, fresh and hot. Chips were fat and full of potato. Pea mash was a great side dish. Hubby had lamb stew and he is still raving about it days later. Great, friendly service, too. Host warmly welcomed everyone coming in. Our server was great and didnât rush us. Overall, a great kick start to an awesome stay in an amazing city.
