Reviews on European food in Wicklow, Province of Leinster, Ireland. Wicklow (Irish: Cill Mhantáin, meaning "church of the toothless one") is the county town of County Wicklow and the capital of the Mid-East Region in Ireland. Located south of Dublin on the east coast of the island, it has a population of 10,584 according to the 2016 census. The town is to the east of the N11 route between Dublin and Wexford. Wicklow is also linked to the rail network, with Dublin commuter services now extending to the town. Additional services connect with Arklow, Wexford and Rosslare Europort, a main ferry port. There is also a commercial port, mainly importing timber and textiles. The River Vartry is the main river which flows through the town.

Arrived on a rainy afternoon the views and grounds are amazing the hotel itself is beautiful we were really looking forward to the afternoon tea myself my Mum my son and daughter in law the tables were set lovely then the disappointment service was dreadful got our tea and coffee after maybe 15 minutes then waited another 10 minutes for our food the food was very bland and we waited another 10 minutes for a fresh cup of coffee no pots) the plates were still half full when they took our cups from us so we got the bill and when we paid for it she said would you like another coffee ( made no sense) so wonât be returning its a shame because the house and grounds are amazing

There are many scenic walks to discover, a river to admire, stunning views, a Foodhall with carefully selected artisanal food products, and our Garden Cafe. Avoca at Mount Usher Gardens is a haven of rare beauty and tranquility. Named by Monty Don as one
There were five of us visiting an extremely busy cafe on the St Patrickâs bank holiday Monday. The cafe was heaving and the staff worked tirelessly. We ordered soups - one chowder at 10.95 euro and three white onion potato cheese soups at seven euro 10 cents - which was the replacement to the advertised soup on the menu. One croque monsieur too at 14.55 euro. All came at the same time and everything was perfect taste wise. Really really tasty to the eye and palette. The soups came with delicious thick sliced breads and butter. Again totally delicious. For all of this the review would be 5 stars. We then ordered coffee and tea which again were fine. The cakes - pecan tart ( at 6.55 euro) and two fruit flans ( at 5.75 euro each) - looked amazing in the counter but unfortunately the look didnât match up to the taste expectations for us. Over elaborate, over decorated, slightly crude and really dry (the pecan tart) and sadly not really great. Hence overall review of 4 stars. Car parking on site. Hi there,Thank you very much for your review. Our customer feedback is hugely valuable to us, and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your soups at the Garden Cafe. Regarding your comments on the desserts, thank you for your feedback. We will ensure this is passed on to the team in an effort to continually improve our offering.Once again, thanks you so much for dining with us, and for your comments.Kind Regards,Avoca

I visited The Bridge Tavern yesterday with my family. We sat at the large window in the bar. We ordered from the menu. Lunch arrived. My daughter ordered a âham and cheese toastieâ with chips. It was a very basic toastie that arrived with a few chips on the side. They charged â¬9 for this. I ordered the goats cheese salad. A lot of the lettuce was dark and slimy so I didnât eat it. I complained about it to a very young looking lounge girl and asked her to say it to the chef. She said âsorryâ and then moments later brought us the bill and didnât mention the salad again. I paid â¬10 for a salad I didnât eat because the lettuce was gone off! Very dissatisfied customer :(Hi HazzerWicklow, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are disappointed to learn that you were left disappointed on your last visit to The Bridge Tavern, this is not the standards we expect to achieve. Your feedback has been passed on to the Head Chef & he will review accordingly. We have sent you a PM to discuss the matter further. We hope to hear from you & see you again in the future.

If youâre looking for a nice place to have breakfast with your family definitely visit the bay cafe! I love love love that it is dog friendly aswell because I consider my dog part of my family so it is nice that she can sit down under the table while we eat so she isnât locked in the car with poor ventilation. I had the pancakes and added bacon to it and they were to die for, the pancakes were so fluffy and mouth watering good. The staff are all very friendly and you can see they interact well with each other and customers. Very impressive place.

The first surprise when you enter the restaurant is the great layout and gorgeous dining room with high ceilings. And the evening continued with lovely food, beautifully prepared and presented with the most wonderful fresh ingredients. It was a delight to eat here and the chef and their kitchen and staff are evidently passionate about food. It is extremely good value, we had the midweek 3 course special for 29 euros. Wicklow is very lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant in its midst and we will be back there very soon.

The pub had great atmosphere and a good selection of beer. The food was the best we have had in Ireland. The Guinness stew was exceptional. If you are in the area this is a must stop.

A delicious seafood dinner , great sauces and fresh ingredients. I was so happy after the pubs potatoes and mutton we had previous days, Irish food is fine but we were really ready for this nice meal. The chef is excellent and this family owned seaside place is worth seeking out: super fine in every way. Gorgeous presentation, and beautiful desserts.
