Reviews on Italian food in Otranto, Province of Lecce, Italy. Gaze out at the azure Adriatic Sea from the sunny beaches of Otranto, in Italy's Puglia region. This historic port town attracts locals and tourists to its 10km of beaches and diving rocks. In town, the cathedral features large-scale mosaics dating back to the 12th century. If you love snorkeling and beautiful seaside views, it's worth making the short journey south to Porto Badisco.

We were looking for a restaurant in Puglia where we could get fresh grilled fish and delicious local food. We were recommended Ristorante Il Diavolicchio Goloso. The service staff gave us a great welcome and were attentive and quickly gave us a glass of delicious rosé Prosecco. The taster degustation starters were tasty but the food, in general, lacks interest and taste. Two of us had monkfish and it was soggy, not well seasoned and was covered in breadcrumbs accompanied by an anaemic vegetable. We also had monkfish in the tomato which was, in our opinion, more tasty. The cuttlefish was overpowered by the turnip tops. The desserts were hugely disappointing. The fruits of the forest pudding was too sugary and tasteless, it tasted shop bought, and the Tiramisu had no alcohol and was tiny. The bill came to â¬200 for four of us (with one bottle of wine) and Iâm afraid weâd had better meals, albeit simpler and plainer fare, for half the price here in Puglia.

Situated between Otranto and Porto Badisco, Tenuta Sant'Emiliano Farm offers enchanting scenery, the holiday of your dreams, limpid and uncontaminated sea, relaxation, peace and silence. But Tenuta Sant'Emiliano Farm does not only propose accommodation: y
I had read great reviews about that place and I absolutely wanted to go for lunch. Here's a tip if you are driving from Otranto: you have to take the SP87 (Santa Cesaria direction) and you'll find it at kilometer 8. The GPS took us to the wrong place twice, so I had to call the restaurant to get the directions. But it's totally worth the trip!First, the setting is amazing. We sat on the terrace under huge pine trees, with a view of the sea in the background. I took the eggplant raviolis with vegetable sauce. Since they have their own garden, the vegetables and edible flowers on the plate were incredibly fresh, tasty and colourful. My partner had the orecchiettes with polpettas and ricotta. Comfort food at it's best! If you go to Otranto, don't miss out! Finally you found us and we are very happy that you have not been disappointed compared to what you expected :-)Thank you so much for your kind words and if you want to come back, remember that you can also book our rooms, perfect for a relaxing holiday.Thank you again.
I have come here multiple times during my stay in Otranto and it never disappoints. The food was delicious, the beer was great and the atmosphere was 10/10. I would definitely recommend coming here if you like craft beer and are in Otranto!

Admittedly I wasnât overly hungry but my husband was when our hotel receptionist recommended this restaurant to us.Turned out to be a cosy, classy little place that served brilliant food. The service was great except that âby the glass wineâ serving was minuscule and disappointing and not cheap at â¬5 a glass. We had the octopus for entree and it was possibly the best Iâd ever eaten. The tuna for main course was delicious too.Meal sizes were small but satisfying.I reckon this restaurant could hold up in any major capital city in the world, very impressive.

Great lunch in a place where lunch seems to be somewhat overlooked. Travelling through puglia we haven't found anywhere particularly amazing for lunch but the Skafe Bagueterria was great. You can choose your own fillings and bread and the crisps are also a great addition!

Surprisingly good seafood. The only offer freshly caught seafood with means that some choices may be limited by their catch. I like that the location of the restaurant was a little away from the tourist attraction and the hoi polloi. However, the restaurant filled up quickly, attesting to its popularity.

I have to say the lobster sandwhich was okay nothing special lacking flavour and covered in rediculous mayonnaise for â¬18 euro I could not recommend this dish unfortunately. The salted cod was okay, but for my little sister we ordered Frito mista the girl taking our order heard Frittura mare, a raw seafood dish came out and we explained its not what we ordered. they didn't care and insisted that's what we ordered. We ordered Frito misto again and they brought out the right dish. Unfortunately its was over fried and the prawns backside hadnt been cleaned. Very Difficult to peel and clean the calamari and octopu was rubbery and inedible.Needless to say we'll have to stop off at another restaurant to fill her belly. A nice guy chatted to us later and asked if we wanted to take the raw Frittura mare and the fritto misto with us. We replied no thanks and explained we never ordered the raw dish and maybe there was confusion which is why it was untouched. Needles to say we were still charges for the dish. Being nice''tourists" we just paid and didn't make a fuss. All in all disappointment.

Went to this very excellent new restaurant in the small town of Minervino di Lecce. You canât go wrong ordering anything on the menu here. Worth the trip if you are staying in Otranto or anywhere near. All the fish we ordered was fresh and cooked just right: the tuna, the snapper, and salted cod. Everything was presented in a very picturesque way and tasted amazing all the way to the deconstructed tiramisu for dessert. Nice ambience and the a/c didnât hurt either. Lots of special touches, donât miss this restaurant. Bon Appetito!
