When we arrived there were many people. We waited for a long time before food arrived. "Arrosticini" and pizza were very good, while the "bistecca" was lower our expectations. Outside there were a lot of dogs of big size. They were calm but we would recommend to pay attention if you have small children.

It was our first visit to Reale so we decided to do the 10 course tasting menu with wine pairing. This way we could experience some of the Chef's favorite dishes and utilize his wine knowledge for pairings. We would recommend this approach. The next time we visit we decided we would each select three or four different dishes from the main menu, that way we can try some of the dishes that were not on either tasting menu. There were several dishes we wished we could try. We also decided that we probably would purchase wines off of the wine list rather than going with the pairing suggestions. In our opinion some of the pairings just did not work for us. The wine list is very long and we saw several wines we would like. So I think the next time, yes we will be back, we will order a bottle of white and a bottle of red off the wine list. This is a good restaurant. The dishes are very creative and the chef lets the natural flavors of the food perform by themselves without using too much spices and seasonings. We enjoyed our visit very much! Tip - because the restaurant is small - only about ten tables, reservations are a must. And since it will probably be a late night, consider staying in one of their nine rooms upstairs from the restaurant. Very nice, and they serve you a wonderful breakfast!

We were in Villetta Barrea in May, so out of season and not much chance of finding anywhere to eat without having to drive. These guys were within walking distance of our apartment (so we could enjoy the house white and Peroni!) and were busy, even if just with takeaway pizzas on weekdays. Very impressed with the service and the food, although probably just basic Italian cuisine, but the pizza was sensational! Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is because I was unhappy with a 4 euro cover charge, apparently for the linen table cloth - but no olives or bread. However, I think this is common in Italy ... even though it's 50% of the cost of the food - whatever!

Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent price and service! The red house wine is a must!! We had gnocchi with sausage and cheese, and a few different pllates of meat for seconds, and a few jugs of wine and didnt break 25e a head!

This restaurant is perfection. Enjoy a beautiful setting while you eat the best food in Italy. Delicious home cooked food that can't be beat. Relax on sun beds or go for a paddle boat ride on the beautiful lake. If you feel adventurous, go for a horse ride. This place has it all!

We stayed at the enclosed B&B (named Gli Orti) and had dinner in the Restaurant. We found the Restaurand very good for food choice and quality. The ambience is also very nice. The village itself is surely worth a visit as it is still authentic. All and all an excellent choice for your lunch/dinner in the area

Piccola trattoria in un vicolo del borgo, dove abbiamo mangiato divinamente.Abbiamo preso un ottimo ed abbondante antipasto della casa per due, ricco di salumi e formaggi tipici del posto.Primi abbondanti e buonissimi: lasagne bianche con tartufo eccellenti e strozzapreti strabilianti. Che dire poi dello stinco al vino â¦.. Personale attento e gentilissimo, professionale ed appassionato.Il certificato di eccellenza che gli hanno attribuito è più che meritato!

The restaurant is situated in a tiny charming village, just up on a hill. The ambience is cozy and romantic, perfect for a couple dinner. The owneers are very cool (Great Rosario!), they assist you on the perfect time, without being intrusive. Their suggestions were highly appreciated. I suggest to enjoy the starters, which can vary upon the day and availability (everything so tasteful). Main courses were also delicious, as well as the cakes. Local wine is pleasant...everything was perfect! Finally, don't miss a walk around the village (Scontrone), which made everything even more pleasant. absolutely suggested!

At 8.15 this back street pizzeria in the mountain town of Barrea was buzzing and we were glad to be found a table. The youthful staff were helpful and enthusiastic, the house wine was very reasonable and drinkable and then there was the pizza......... sadly I have had few excellent pizzas in Italy - too often the base is soggy or the toppings meagre but finally I found a pizza that I couldn't fault. Generous in size and toppings, crisp but not too friable - why can't all the pizzas I eat be as good as this???? A lovely shared dessert, two espressos and the bill was STILL only â¬25. What a bargain. If you are anywhere near Barrea please try this little gem out. As we left there were people queuing out of the door - so if there is a caveat - it is go early or expect a wait.
