Often stop here for wine and tapas but recently decided to try the wagyu beef burger. Although it was expensive, you really couldn't fault the meat. It was very tender and came rare as requested. Yum!

We stayed in Jaen in one of the hottest days in July ,45 degrees. After reading positive Trip Advisor reviews we decided to eat in La Vascular. We really enjoyed it.We were greeted and looked after by the owner Enrique, though he told me to call him Harry. The meal was excellent, finishing off with a really gorgeous Uruguaying dessert. The wine was excellent,we finished the evening with a shot which had Enrique,s father's secret recipe. An excellent evening ,made special by the owners friendly and personal attention, his English was a great help.I also discovered he was a secret Irish rugby supported,a very pleasant evening,as we say in Ireland, great Craic.Mervyn D.

This is one of those places you go when you want to get a good and friendly atmosphere with good food at good prices. It may get a bit noisy since it is a bit small, but you can ask for extra sitting inside, where everything is quieter and there's more space. Great for a dinner out!

We went there because of reviews read, and were very pleased It's small and with lots of local people. The menu is small, but very tasty. And the woman who serves is charming. ON top of this, it's very reasonably priced and off the main drag!

Staying at the hotel the restaurant was a no brainer for dinner especially as it is a long drive down to the city. Typically at 8.30pm the other diners were British and Dutch. The cost for three courses was 35â¬, a bit more than other Paradores but possibly justified by the fantastic views from the hotel. I found the portion sizes too large and a bit lacking in finesse. A starter of cod with garlic potato would have been better if half the size. The veal steak was well cooked and tender but had no vegetables (typical of Spain) and one dollop of potato so that the meat was too dominant. The tiramisu was good but again a large portion for my taste and digestion. Service was efficient and pleasant. If you are staying at the hotel then fine for one night but I would not go out of my way to dine here.

We came to this attractive modern restaurant set in the middle of olive groves for a surprise birthday lunch with friends from Jaén.The food was excellent. We shared a wide range of starters: ensaladilla, partridge paté, lomo de orza (marinated loin of pork), cold salmorejo soup, tuna tataki and croquetas....The main course was a choice of baked cod with a mayonnaise topping or 'pluma ibérica' (grilled loin of pork). The dessert was to die for. I have no idea what it was: a sort of light 'natillas´ custard with a ball of something very deliciously creamy at the bottom! Not a brilliant descriptionâ¦.In short, it was a great meal and the birthday lady really enjoyed herself !!

Had dinner here a few weeks ago and found that the dishes are either spectacular or horrendous. For example, the chicken curry croquettes, the spring rolls and the cerviche were all outstanding, however, the pigs ear samosas and salmon with ajoblanco were very disappointing. The desserts are incredible, my favourite being the tarta de queso espumoso! The service is also excellent so I look forward to returning with a more clear idea of what I would like to order.

One reason why I wanted to visit Jaen was to eat at Casa Antonio. Why information on tripadvosor or Google might not be up to date it is extremely unprofessional and sad that Casa Antonio is not giving any information about their restaurant being closed on Mondays on their own webside. They might cook fantastic food but when customers plan hotel etc. it is very disappointing to see your plans going down the drain because of lack of information on the webside.

A lovely little restaurant which serves quality food at good prices. Raul really will do everything he can for his customers. The last dinner I had here consisted of provolone cheese with tomato, flamenquin con queso, bbq ribs and carrot cake for dessert. Everything was delicious, the wine was great and we were given a selection of bottles of liquer to help ourselves at the end. The only tip I have is that if you are going in a small group then stick to the bar menu rather than the restaurant menu. The restsurant menu only offers full portions rather than half so you can try more dishes for your money in the bar.

Italian? I guess not.Good? I guess not.We went here after five weeks in andulacia, craving some pasta. Bad move. The pesto sauce was made with canned basil, and tasted like there was powdered soup mix in there somewhere. The arrabiata was not spicy and contained meat, possibly beef, but who knows what it was, it had a sad aftertaste. A starter of eggplant was tired, not tasty. On the good side, a starter of burrata was delicious, but then all the kitchen had to do was plate it.No italian wine, but the selection was okThe waiter was a great guy. Pricey it was, considering the very mediocre quality. And this doesn't even address the political furor in Italy over the name.
