Casa Gerbe, a surprise and a delight - in Gerbe!

Reviewed By whereroadsgo

We spent a couple of nights at Casa Gerbe, as a base to explore Ainsa, the local mountain landscape, and the Odessa Valley. I wish we had spent longer here. Miguel is an attentive and knowledgeable host, and there is a lot to see and do. Case Gerbe is a wonderful retreat, with good food, and a well-stocked library on the local area. By the way, it is in Gerbe, not Ainsa as listed in Expedia!

Casa Rural El Porton de Murillo

Country Inn in a Scenic Town

Reviewed By ndser

We stayed at the Casa Rural El Porton de Murillo in Broto for 1-night in late-May (€95). The casa rural was a alpine country lodge of indeterminate age, all wood and stone in four towering floors topped with a steep, gabled roof. To find it, orient on the church to the right as you enter town, drive up the narrow medieval streets and be sure to circle behind the church (on the side away from the highway), then drive past the school to the last building on the left. The casa's stone & timber construction gave a sense of quietness & tranquility the instant we entered the front door. It has been well maintained and updated (except a dysfunctional elevator that would have been appreciated getting to our room on the top floor). We chose the junior suite, that takes up the entire floor, an open and spacious room with a wide deck with fabulous views of the town, waterfalls and the mountains. The room had peaked dark wood ceilings, wood floors, and hardwood furniture that could have made it gloomy, but it was lightened by white walls and view windows on 3 sides. It was sparsely furnished with a queen bed with oak headboard & side tables, small couch, 2 large clothes cabinets, chest of drawers, 2 cow hide director's chairs, TV but no safe or mini-refrigerator (there was one in the guest's kitchen on the ground floor, where there was also a microwave, wood-fired oven and stove, a large table). The bathroom was huge, with a double-wide couple's jetted tub set by a window, a huge vanity with 2 sinks, and a separate shower. Breakfast was served in the 1st floor breakfast room adjacent to a seating area with games and a TV, with a deck with seats and a view of town and waterfalls in front, a patio area with tables & chairs, and access to a large pool on another terrace (not in operation when we were there). Breakfast was a bit gourmet, with apples topped with yogurt, fresh baked muffins, croissants & bread, coffee & juice – sparse in variety, but filling none-the-less. As for the town itself, Broto seems unknown to tourists but is a charming little village with a small Medieval centre near the church and along the river upstream from the bridge, and a pretty trail up to the waterfalls. It is well worth a couple hour visit or, if you are at the end of a day of touring, an overnight stay. The town has several restaurants and we noticed a mini-market on our stroll through the newer part of the village. In summary, the casa rural was a comfortable hotel with a helpful host that delivered excellent quality at a reasonable price. Recommended, if a stay in Broto fits into your itinerary.

Refugio de Bujaruelo

What a lovely refugio

Reviewed By 915ramiz

This refugio is simply charming, starting with the super-friendly and helpful staff (Elena), a variety of room options, and great food. We had a room for 4 persons with private shower and toilet, and it was great. We also upgraded dinner to the T-bone steaks, which were superb, and a great salad for a starter. As a veteran of refugios - this one is highly recommended

Hotel Mirador Las Grullas

Amazing place in rural area

Reviewed By GabyCroatia

Travelling throughout Spanish North we had a stopover and spent one night in this Hotel Mirador de las Grullas. It was short but amazing experience. After we had visited Mallos de Riglos we came to this accommodation to sleep over and to rest. We were so happy we made such a decision. The place is like an oasis in the middle of nothing. There are couple of small stone houses arranged so nicely in the rural authentic style. The patio and the garden are also very very nice. Lots of things are made of stone and it reminds me a bit of Flinstones..which is so nice.:) Interior is beautiful, a bed big and comfortable. Bathroom is all in stone. When you take a shower you feel you are in a kind of a cave. The host was very nice, helpful, kind and hospitable. They prepared us delicious domestic dinner which we had arranged in advance. Breakfast was ok...but a bit disappointing in the sense of quantity. After breakfast we felt a bit peckish. But it does not make the whole impression any worse. All in all we were happy and pleased we stayed there and it is a special place hardly to forget.

Incredible warm, confortable and charm place

Reviewed By Savvy_Traveler_658

Very nice house, we have stayed this weekend in this lovely house. I was recommended by some friends of mine, at it is fantastic. It is a “Must” in the Pyrenees, the rooms are incredible clean and warm, the house is very nicely decorated. superb, each one has its own charm. Difficult to choose. Elisabeth amazing in every detail. I believe is a perfect place for a romantic week end or for team building experience of a small young company as it has nice common living room and shared kitchen if you need an area to brainstorming and planning. I strongly recommend the Casa Rural Valle de Tena.

Casa Martin Ordesa

Very good – comfortable apartment with fine view

Reviewed By NomadicTraveller7

We spent a very nice week in a two bedroom apartment, not that we needed the second bedroom. The apartment was comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and a nice terrace with fine view. It was reasonable value. Martin spoke good English and he was extremely helpful, explaining the things to do in the area and supplying us with lots of information leaflets and booklets. It was good value. We liked Sarvisé – small village but with a very good bar/restaurant – Cafeteria Meliz and a good outside bar – Terrazza Caballos.
