Homemade and quality cooking, exploring the flavors most characteristic of the Sierra de Aracena (HUELVA)
it is a small bar so feels full with few people in it. decor not of good quality and needs some tlc. staff took my order but no conversation with them, tapas were given to the locals ordering beers but not to me. I speak Spanish so no reason for them to treat me as an outsider but the bar is mainly for the locals

Come here for great staff, great food, great drink. Drink sherry, ask what they recommend and go with it. Second time in two years being here and both times great.

This is an absolute hidden gem.Well worth hunting out.Only a small place with not many tables and is popular with locals. If you arrive after 8:30pm you'll probably have to wait for a table although there is more seating upstairs & outside.Staff are friendly and attentive.Tapas are the cheapest we found in Aracena & portions were biggest too.All freshly prepared from an extensive menu.Plenty of atmosphere. Two of us fed to bursting plus drinks for around a total of â¬20.So good, we went back for 2 more nights.

We treated our daughter's roommate and several of her closest friends to shared plates of delicious food, including the famous jamon iberico. The ham seems quite tough and difficult to cut, but the flavor is amazing. Even though we were the last ones there, Hugo, our server, did not seem impatient at all. It was a great introduction to Andalusian food and Andalusian people and the price was less than we would pay for 4 people in the US.

Once again a disappointing restaurant in Aracena. Besides having all the boring dishes every other restaurant in the area has, it only offers two options for vegetarians: mushrooms and grilled vegetables, a complete lack of imagination...ok...we ordered the grilled vegetables...just incredible!!.. simple grilled vegetables but the worst I had ever tried. The aubergines had lots of seeds and were so bitter, they made all the other vegetables bitter as well! We literally struggled to finish the dish and it definitely showed how little knowledge the cook has about how to prepare a vegetable dish...the waiter was unable to show a bit of flexibility to offer anything different so we ended up leaving quickly to finish our dinner somewhere else.

Prime stop between Lisbon and Seville...if you like "cerdo iberico, pata negra"..."black pork"..the one you can see along the roads eating "bellotas" or oak nuts, you can eat all of it : raw ham and dried sausages, sirloins, "plumas" etc Jose Vicente is a great place to do it...

We recommend that you make reservations for evening meals, credit cards are accepted.
This place was introduced to me by a friend who had stayed in the town it is not in the touristy centre but within easy reach on foot or car. Lunch on terrace with view of the castle and peaceful surrounds at end of October. Food very nice and look forward to next visit. The Trip Advisor flag was flying above the Spanish. The restaurant is named after the small window opening found in those heavy wooden doors.

We were the only patrons but it was a Monday. Great lunch and far too much to eat. Nice olives and bread. Interesting salmorejo cream amuse bouche. Cod in a mango and sun dried tomato salad. Lovely roast vegetables. Flavourful morcilla, chorizo, jamon, potato and egg dish. Good squid. Enormous cheese plate much of which was doggy bagged. Washed down with nice Verdejo. â¬98. Service was slightly patchy but good when there was someone there. Thank you so much for your words. We are very pleased to see that you had a good experience in our restaurant. We take note of them to improve our service next time.I hope you are back very soon. There are many other interesting flavours to discover for you!

Located in the heart of the Sierra de Aracena, Jesus Carrion Restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy a variety of dishes and tapas made with local produce, international and innovative touches and a carefully selected wine instead. Come and enjoy a drink, g
The best restaurant in the mountains of Huelva. The dishes are very large and the price range is decent. You may pay a big bill but the quality of the food is simply unbeatable. Book in advance because it is normally packed at the weekends. The service is very fast and the waiters are really polite and helpful.

Family run bar/restaurant in Aracena since 1986. Traditional cuisine with innovative touches by Loli Alcaide. She has dedicated her whole life to cooking and her family. Also she is written 2 cook books. Homely, friendly and welcoming restaurant for all.
This small, charming family driven bar/restaurant is ok if You are on a tight budget.I can only assume that it became number one in town, due to "good value for money" or friends of the house...This place might be the best "value for money" joint in town but is not anywhere near the best restaurant. They haven't got a wine list and the menu was written on a piece of paper. Ensalada de presa was good, and the other dishes ok.Daughter was serving, mother cooking and father in the bar (not on the customer side...)If on a tight budget, and You want a cold beer - check it out.If You want a nice meal, and a good bottle of wine served from the wine fridge, then look elsewhere...
