The location looks quite inviting, the menu is diversified and offers local cuisine. We took the fact that is was attended by Spanish families for a token for good food but unfortunately the dishes were not well cooked and the service was quite unefficient. So not really a good recommendation in this town.

Deba is a regular stop on the Camino, but to be honest, it wasnât the highlight of the towns so far.... we also got stuck an extra day because of injuries and weather. After eating in a few establishments (varying between very standard and over-priced) this great little bar/restaurant on the beach was a fabulous find. Lovely guys (really helpful, warm and friendly), funky wee bar and great value food- some tasty pastas (seafood, bolognese etc) @ bout 6⬠and a range of paella â¬12-14. Also mains with vegetables and patatas (fish, chicken etc) that we didnât try. Good looking burger, and they do a vege burger. Interesting pintxos. Obviously a locals hangout. We could see why. Oh, and great soundtrack. Brilliant.

Estuvimos tomando un par de pintxos, elaborados y ricos. No es un restaurante, es una vinoteca con cuatro mesas en la terraza.

Feeling brave we sat outside this highly recommended (on trippy) taberna, at the drop down table (we had a dog so we couldnât sit inside). The staff spoke broken English and we managed to order tapas. They were yummy and very local, the staff were really helpful and patient with our lack of Spanish. 5*âs because the tapas was probably the best weâve ever tried, the restaurant was great and the staff fantastic and very welcoming even making us special tapas for us to try.

Family business,50 years open, renovated in 2017. Local products, grilled fish, special menu, and large assortment of tipical pintxos in the bar.
Three course meal (18 e) was delicious. Four of us got to share fish cake, black squid rice, turbot, hake grilled anchovies, cheese with quince jelly sheep milk in a jar and a traditional dessert. The restaurant does not take reservations during the week so we had to wait about 1/2 hour. Once seated, service was fast and very welcoming. Definitely would return.
