Our friends were staying in one of the homes here so we decided to meet them for dinner. The food was terrible and incredibly expensive for Nicaragua. Took us forever to even get a waiter to bring us our drinks never mind the food. Meat was under cooked and had to be sent back twice. The waiter seemed very annoyed that we wanted to food cooked more and said no it's fine over and over again. It was cold when it finally was brought back and my friend never did finish it afraid of getting sick.
Boho chic beach front restaurant is a small and beautifully designed shack, on stunning Playa Jobo. The atmosphere and decoration celebrates the uncomplicated and authentic beach culture of local fisherman village. They have live music some times, and the location is right on the beach. Try some locally brew artisan beers with a grilled lobster burger. The scenery and the vibes are just as good as the food! Is a small jewel and little secret ( but not for long) .
Coming back from the beach on our way to the mountains we had to stop for food and we asked some locals for help with a restaurant. They suggested La Negra and was all worth it. Good portions and good selection of mariscos. We had arroz con camarones, ceviche and patacones! Delicious! Place a bit rustic of course but the important is the quality of good! Pura Vida!

The food is nothing to write home about, but it´s definitely a good value. And with an unrivaled view of Bahia Salinas, this place is totally worth a visit.

This place has some charm to it. Worth while to visit and actually spend the evening there if you wish. The view over looking the bay is spectacular. The menu is varied but the one plate that was recommended to us by our tour guide (Tony's Expidition) was a fried plantain with beans. I am not a plantain or bean person but this dish was very good and I highly recommend it. We were there during the day, so I don't know what the evening/night life would be like there. If you do a trip to La Cruz, I would stop at this place for a bite to eat.

I have had most everything on the menu : pizza, chicken lasagna, fish, "batidos" - milkshakes, "pinto" -rice & beans, and more. I am eating less meat these days so I usually have eggs w fried plantains, rice & beans or a salad with cheese. They often make a delicious dessert "flan de coco". With a little notice they can make a birthday cake. It's within walking distance from the Playa Copal which is where many people kitesurf. They now have wifi and some rooms for rent as well.If you enter but don't see anyone, give out an "hola" so they know you have arrived, as they may be inside the kitchen.
