No frills spot for great Mexican foodâwe were passing through town and saw this place, itâs in a small strip mall so we werenât sure about it, but wow it was amazing!! Everything was authentic and there were many choices on the menu, even the kids liked it!

our Liberia guidebook mentioned only two restaurants and one we couldn't find and the other was a steak house and looked really too meaty for 4 vegetarians plus an omnivore so we tried and loved Guacamole - they said ANY dish on the menu they could adjust to a vegetarian and we mixed and matched to our tasted buds desire and had a really good meal. It is tucked away but worth the visit.

This is perhaps one of the most authentic restaurants, well off the typical tourist path. Some friends first brought us here several years ago, and we've continued that tradition by bring other friends here each visit. That's for two reasons: 1) This place cannot be found unless you know wight where it is, and 2) Umberto still cooks the same way, the same tacos, that we enjoy so much. To call this a "taco restaurant" is mis-leading -- it's more of an experience, and the food is fabulous. Homemade jalapeÃ±o salsa, guacamole made fresh to order, and our favorite, the chorizo-cheese tacos on corn tortillas. Bring your own adult beverages -- that's how it's done.Driving on the main road from the airport to Liberia, almost exactly 5 minutes from the airport entry road as you head towards Liberia, after the big grey metal Mapache building on the left, and before the CAT equipment store on the left. It's a house on the left, not well marked at all, usually a Jeep in the driveway. Enjoy the adventure!!

The hot schezuan noodles with oyster soup and fried crabs was just delicious and lip-smacking. Also, the prices of all the recipes were quite affordable.
