No frills spot for great Mexican foodâwe were passing through town and saw this place, itâs in a small strip mall so we werenât sure about it, but wow it was amazing!! Everything was authentic and there were many choices on the menu, even the kids liked it!

The restaurant has a colonial style, conserving its architectonic beauty within its harmony with nature. Its accommodations, its cuisine, and the surrounding landscape satisfy the visitorâs pleasure. This is a high class restaurant where we can taste tilapi
By pan Am Hwy once you drive by Cañas...The restaurant is located at La Pacifica ...former cattle ranch...also a former Costa Rica President. The name of his wife was Pacifica Fernandez...The food there is excellent ...ask for the home made bread. The steaks are the best...aslo ask for the home made Pineaple and papaya mermelade...simple the best!!
Super gezellig en erg lekker. Goed betaalbaar, het ligt een stukje de bult op, maar daardoor mooi uitzicht over de omgeving. Ook toegankelijk voor bussen. Vlotte bediening en erg gezellig.

Went here yesterday..This little place is at the other end of Avellanas beach if you follow the road from the main entrance of Lolas..Its a typical CR style bar and restaurant just off the beach in a rancho style setting..The owner is very friendly and will happily sit at the bar with you and chat for hours! whilst petting yours (and her) dog Benji. The cerviche was excellent with tonnes of fish..The owner served us everything herself,The casado is typical with plantains, picadillo the lot..As locals we cant afford the prices of Lolas,so this was a great alternative. We will be back!

Es un lugar agradable ya que es abierto, se mantiene muy fresco y el servicio fue rápido. Nos gustó el espacio amplio para dejar los vehÃculos. HabÃa música de diferentes géneros. Posiblemente vamos a volver!

We went to Dinner at the Borrego Negro. Donât let the inconspicuous appearence of the Restaurant fool you! The restaurant offers very high quality dishes at a reasonable price. Nowhere else in Costa Rica have we eaten as well as in this Restaurant. You can feel, that the owner loves his Restaurant and the offered dishes and explains on request every dish in detail. Apperantly the Restaurant was opened only 4 month ago, so the menu is still inclomplete and other changes, such as Desserts are in preparation. Altogether very recommedable, so that we were very Sand to have found the restaurant only on the day before our departure. We would have liked to go there more often.

We were told to go here by Victor, local guy we meet at Club Rio. He was spot on! Food was fantastic. They got pretty busy and only have 3 ladies working. I think you need to understand that the service is not going to be like at a 5 start restaurant, and you might have a little wait or have to ask for something again. However, it is a little local place and my kids loved the food, we got Casada Pollo, Pesce, hamburger and a Filet. Don't expect a chop house Filet, and I would recommend the fish or chicken. Stay with the local goods and you won't be sorry. Loved it and recommend it to anyone going to LaFortuna.

Me
Stumbled across Manti after mudslides around Lake Arenal forced us to reroute on the way to Liberia. Reasonably priced, attentive service, and delicious food. Had the Married Special which included chicken, beef or fish, rice and beans, plantains and a salad. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. Beef was a skirt steak topped with caramelized onions. We also ordered the shrimp con arroz which was similar to an Asian shrimp fried rice. Decent sized portions. 3 dishes, 2 teas, 1 coffee and 3 bottled waters was ~30 colones. The menu is in Spanish but the servers speak English and will gladly explain/translate.
