Things to do in Liberia
Gourmet coffee, 100% gluten free food, vegetarian food, relaxing place, free wi fi. Typical costarrican food, delicious pastry.
Stumbled in to Posada Real looking for breakfast. A lovely dessert counter is at the front of the cafe, and as it turns out, it was all gluten free. And gorgeous. (see photo) Service was lovely, and subsequently the owner came in and chatted to us. She is celiac, and knows how to keep a gluten free kitchen. For atmosphere, quality of food and service, and great prices, stop by. It's also a good place to stop before checking in at the airport.Dear Deyto: Thanks for visiting us, we'll never forget you as our first review on TripAdvisor! Hope you enjoy our country!

This seems to be a family run restaurant which is exactly what we were looking for. This type of restaurant is referred to as a SODAS in Costa Rica. We were the only English speaking people in the restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Very good meats and fish. You can clearly tell they want to please us and they did. If we return to the area we would definitely return. Don't be fooled by the way it looks from the outside. It is a local roadside restaurant that should be near the top of your list for this area if you want genuine local cooking.

Un lugar para disfrutar y compartir en pareja, con amigos, en una reunion de negocios o en familia. Agradable ambiente en el corazon de Liberia.
ThisIs normally one of our go to restaurants but on Tuesday, the chef missed the mark. My friend and I always go for the usually amazing grilled chicken and is served,!usually, with an amazing mushroom sauce that makes you snack yourLips and smile but, not this visit. The chicken was charred and burned tasting and the sauce flat. Her husband however had the Cordon Blue and it looked delicious and he liked his. Donât think we wonât try again because when itâs the right day or chef, it is well worth it! They also have live bands on Fridays if your so inclined!

We read the reviews and thus made our decision to have lunch here before dropping friends off at a nearby hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was good with a nice presentation. In fact, we returned again today for lunch ordering the portobello sandwich both times. Roll fresh and filled with yummy vegetables. It takes time to get your food so donât stop if you are in a hurry. Also, the air conditioner wasnât working on one side of the restaurant so our first visit was a warm one. If we return to this beautiful country, we will start and finish our visit with a stop at the Green House, located close to the airport and car rental offices.

Stopped here early in the morning for a cooked breakfast en route to Nicaragua. Hot food and fruit available as well as nice coffee. Very clean and friendly staff.

I can always judge a steak place by how they do hamburger. My husband and I each had a hamburger. Size-wise they were big. But they were charred on the outside, and blood raw in the middle. We ordered medium well. It was if they cooked them from frozen on a too-hot stove. The decor is pleasant, but the service is slow and inattentive. We could NOT get our waiter back to return the hamburger for a bit more cooking. Nor could we get refills of drinks. After bringing our food, he just disappeared. We had to get up find him to get our check. I give the restaurant another try; maybe they were having a bad hair day or something.

PROVECHO!
Lunch time stopover on our tour across Costa Rica. The menu looked interesting if a little pricey although we discovered as we travelled around that prices are generally high. Whilst the cerviche I went for was good it was a bit of a suprise to find hot calamari placed on top. Meanwhile the fish fillet my wife ordered had to be sent back as it was still raw at the thick end so disappointing overall.

Had lunch here with friends who own another top rated restaurant in town. The restaurant is open air and stark, but clean and comfortable. Ordered coconut shrimp and fried calamari as appetizers. Both were excellent. All of our entrees were delicious and we'll prepared. Service was friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a place to mingle with the locals and have an excellent meal, give this restaurant a try.Hello! Move all the way here after reading about this place in Fodors and on TripAdvisor. Their website does not mention anything about being closed. But when we got here, it look like the place had been locked up tight for quite some time. Maybe they are closed and rainy season, I donât know. But at least put up some signage, at least put on your website, at least do something to let people know. We drove around trying to figure out if there was an alternate entrance we were just missing something, but nothing. Saludos,Sebastien

We had a mixed meat plate of grilled chicken and beef. It came with french fries and vegetables. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. There was enough on the plate for me and my husband, and enough to take home for another meal. The service was very good. I especially like the decor that gave me that "big city" feel like New York of Chicago. I felt transcended. The restaurant offers live music many nights and you should check to see when they do and join in.Dear Shirley,Greetings from Liberia Social!
