Very disappointed in the service we received during our stop for lunch. We purposely came for lunch because of a prior visit that was amazing. We ordered a couple of pilsen and fish and chips (thinking it would be quick) and after an hour of no service found they hadn't even ordered our lunch. Very disappointing.Silly us...we stayed and waited an 1/2 hour for terrible fish and chips...so greasy. I can say we will not be back.

Father Rooster is the premier beachfront bar & restaurant on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The location and scenery combined with top quality (yet very simple) food and our famous frozen drinks makes Father Rooster a must see on your next visi
Our family of six had a fun time finding this place, and were glad we did. It's a great place to relax by the beach, have some tropical drinks and good food. We stayed around to watch the sun set on a huge rock between two islands off shore. The team of servers was very attentive. Our only complaint would be the constant battle to keep pesky flies off of our drinks and food.Hello Birdguy: Thank you for your review and for your business! I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. I have watched many sunsets between the mountain and island in front of Father Rooster. It is quite a display. Glad you enjoyed the food and drinks. I wish that we had a better solution for the flies. They come on occasion and cover the entire region--generally when the winds are pushing out from the farmland over the ocean. It is pretty tough to keep them at bay. In any case, thanks again for your business and please come back again soon!

We popped across to the sailing club from the hotel next door (Bahia del Sol). It was a Tuesday night which was 2 4 1 pizza night- on all medium pizzas. âMediumâ was a sizeable pizza too!It was a busy night since it was Kids RootBeer Pong night- lots of families, quite loud & quite a wait for food- but other nights have seemed relatively calmer. We have been back since for drinks and seen other food being taken to tables- portions looked big & quality looked good.Perfectly located for watching the amazing sunset at Potrero Beach, also has a pool for patrons use and a few kids activities too. Great food at reasonable prices.

Went here per a recommendation from another couple thatâs staying at the same condo complex on Playa Potrero and we all were very pleased with our choice. We ordered the organic chicken breast and got the rice and beans, instead of the pasta , the Primavera pasta dish and the Mahi-mahi. Our teenagers loved the rice & beans and ate everything on their plate. So needless to say, everyone enjoyed their food but the best was the ambiance of the place. Fun music at the bar, a beautiful infinity pool and a gorgeous sunset that seemed to last forever. Bring your camera as you are going to want to take pictures. We also were greeted by Shaun and we really appreciated his positive attitude on life and the sharing of the Pura Vida lifestyle. We could have stayed here all night long, engaged in conversation, and soaking up the great vibes of the place! P.S. You gotta try the blackberry sage lemonade (alcoholic drink). It was very yummy and hit the spot on a hot day. Overall, our experience was great and the wait staff was very attentive! We truly appreciated our waitress as she sent back my husbandâs tequila and got him a new one when it just didnât taste right the 1st time. Now thatâs service! Make a reservation as you gotta try this place ! Itâs a bit on the pricey side, but youâll enjoy the view and company !

We ate here twice, the second time because of proximity to our rental, and while the food is pretty good, the service is really slow. Even on vacation time, the service is slow! However, the music and drinks are great, so Iâd only go back for that.

If youâd like an average hamburger for a lot of $$, this is your place. Server was the same lady from Ponciana the night before. She was very pleasant but the level of service was similar to Ponciana the night before. This was not her fault, I just think the property and management foster this level of service as acceptable. The burgers were mostly flavorless and very well done when we asked for medium or medium well across our group. We waited for 45 min before receiving our order. For lunch that is too long. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. I suggest buying your own ingredients cooking in your room!

I read the great reviews of this place so we went here our second night in the area. There are many beautiful sunset views in the area, including this one. I gave this 3 because the view is beautiful. We ordered food and they were missing some of the ingredients. Instead of telling me, they made it without the ingredients. When I asked for them to be replaced (as the dish is sitting I front of me), they wanted to up-charge me. I know this seems small, but sometimes you really have a craving, and if the principal ingredients are missing, the food is not the same. All in all, fine drinks and food, but nothing too special. Id suggest looking around a bit before deciding on having dinner here.

This place ended up being our go to spot. The staff are amazingly nice. To add to the wonderful employees, there is a mix of local regulars that are willing to chat and give you tips on your stay. But the food!!! A nice varity of food done with quality.

This is my first TripAdvisor review ever which says a lot about the calibre of food and service you'll get at El Castillo's. My husband and I visited twice for dinner during our stay in Costa Rica. There are many great places to dine in the area but El Castillo's food was so delicious and thoughtfully crafted that we visited twice, despite our general rule to never visit the same place twice. The first time we visited I ordered the mushroom burger that had a beautiful port sauce and my husband ordered the Timmy sandwich. Both were delicious. Tonight we went for the rib dinner -- a Friday special -- and it was out of this world. We were stuffed but couldn't refuse an order of the Snickers cheesecake that was just sublime and I'm not someone who has a sweet tooth. Everything is homemade and delicious. The owner and staff are attentive and the food is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and visit El Castillo.. you will not regret it!

One of our favourite places to stop in Coco. The food is good, staff friendly and fast ... the band playing the night we were there was good but too loud and never took a break so we couldnât talk to people we met. My husband didnât like the ribs but my wings were excellent!
