Our chef knows how important it is, not to follow the fashions in the kitchen. For this, to eat well is for us synonymous of the equilibrium between past and present. We believe in the care of every one of our dishes and in the guardianship of traditional
I went yesterday evening with two friends in this lovely restaurant in the wonderful Maremma countryside. The food was delicious as was the housewine, which comes direvtly from the the estate of the beard owner and cook, Tommaso . You can taste local products from the place including the famous Tortelli maremmami, the wildboard with orange, and the fried artichoke-balls. The setting is very attractive, being the restaurant in a a sort of greenhouse on a prairie. If you are in Maremma it is really worth the detour. I also found the price very reasonable with excellent value for money.Thank you so much for your positive review. The philosophy of Re Sugo is really oriented to preserve the ancient and traditional âmaremmanaâ cuisine with passion and innovation. In Maremma we usually cook wild boar with a classic tomato sauce but, in line with our ideas, we have developed a new recipe with aromatic herbs and oranges. I'm happy that you like it. Another important choice of our restaurant is the selection of typical products from small producers located near to the restaurant. Mr. Silvano Mori is a renowed "salumiere" from the village of Torniella and is very famous because his truffle salami is sold in London by Harrod's. Tomatoes, sauces and vegetables are fresh and we prefer hydroponic crops without chemicals. I hope to see you soon in the Maremma to enjoy good food and a good wine! Cucina tipica maremmana e pizza storica del mitico Gigi! Dolci e primi tutto fatto in casa! (NO GLUTEN FREE)
In the middle of nowhere and you walk into a remnant of the 1980s in terms of decor, but in a nostalgic way, not old and tatty. Pasta and bread home made, local meat, veggies from their allotment. Small portions; heavy on the salt. Tortelli maremmi and fettuccine were very good; the meat probably too, but the sauce in which it came was too salty for us. Paltry portions of roast potatoes and veggies. Family run, children welcome.

The tables are outside next to the road and the menu is also in English. At sunset you can drive past the restaurant and take in the view from the top of the hill at Castello di Monte Antico. There is a small playground next to the taverna where the kids can play. The food is good, especially the pizza with a beautiful thin crust. Service on sunday is charming but the restaurant gets very crowded so it can be quite rushed. There are several good desserts including an Italian creme brûlée. We had pasta - which was home made and delicious.

Cucina che rispecchia la tradizione del territorio rivisitata con fantasia. La base dei piatti è di carne Cinta senese per il suino Limusine per quanto riguarda i vitelli. Allevati nei nostri allevamenti all'aperto.Pane, pasta sono fatti artigianalmente d
Specialises in meat from Cinta Senese, a rare pig breed but also very good beef. The outdoor seating in the summer is very pleasant.
Cortesia e prezzi abbordabili.

Porcini, (means little pigs in Italian) are the same mushroom called cèpe (in French), and in Germany, Steinpilz (the "stone mushroom"). They are gathered wild in the woods in the fall and people make some extra money selling them to vendors and restaurants. Here, in Ristorante Rintocco they brought a big plate of the mushrooms for us to see, along with two beautiful fresh fish. We split an antipasto which consisted of a bowl of Tuscan soup, a plate of marinated zucchini and a bruschetta with fresh tomato. I had the home made tagliatelle with the porcini. My husband had fish. My pasta was obviously made by hand and it was slightly over cooked so it stuck together and the porcini sauce was quite sparse. Otherwise everything was good.

This restaurant came highly recommended by locals from Banfi. But, we were a bit disappointed. The service was medicore at best, not what we had been experiencing, and the food seemed to be too Americanized and nothing special.
