Once again, at this time of year, I find myself back in Tuscany revisiting some stunning places and great restaurants. I know I have reviewed this restaurant favourably before but I must once again tell you of my latest experience at this pleasantly appointed restaurant. The service was very good, friendly and delivered with a genuine smile on their faces. And more importantly the food was still terrific and the prices had not been increased from last year, making it even cheaper than before. This restaurant must be the cheapest in Tuscany and given the quality of the food offers, what I believe, to be the best value meal in the whole of Tuscany. If you are in the area of Castel Del Piano, which is an attractive town, then do yourself a big favour and eat here. I will be going back there very soon.

In a little ancient village, Montegiovi, placed at the mountainside of Monte Amiata, our Organic Restaurant cooks for its guests typical Tuscan dishes. A beautiful view, the silence of centuries old olive trees all around and high quality organic wines an
If youâre lucky enough to find yourself this far off the beaten track, find your way to LâOlivastra. In my heart of hearts, I hope itâs open to welcome you and your traveling band â we were very fortunate to be welcomed by Ms. Maura and her son, Davide, who overseas the growing and cultivation processes. If youâre really lucky, youâll meet their enormous German Shepherd, I-gor. If only a dog could talk... the tales heâd tell. Dear you, thank so much for the special words you deserved us. We always try to make our place so peaceful for all the guests and let you taste how wonderful are typical meal here around, including organic olive oil and wine that we make.We wait for you soon, thank you.

A terrace overlooking rural Tuscany, great prosecco, a warm evening, the woman I love. It is was a perfect evening. The restaurant decoration is comfortable, personal and delightfully eclectic. Shelves of wine, mix with awards, books, and family photographs. You feel that have been invited to dinner at a rather eccentric aunt's Tuscan mansion. The food is generous, delicious, and unfussy. Definitely worth a big detour to visit.

This is it, amazing simple dishes with fresh local produce made with real care. Someone recommended this restaurant to us and we were not disappointed to the point of coming back two days later. The food was generously served and tasted amazing. In between the 3 of us we must have tried most of the fresh pastas. Tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, pici with mushroom and sausage, gnocchi with gorgonzola... all tasted really good but the gold medal were the tagliolini with fresh truffles...a delight! The meat was also really tasty, perfectly cooked and of very high quality. The house wine might be a tad more expensive than other places but it is an organic wine that unlike most places tasted good. You can tell the owner Carlo is a really passionate cook and a real character. The settings is also very nice and the relaxed attitude of the waiters made us feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant. 5 stars.

I enjoy eating at La Tagliola because the large fireplace is so nice, especially after a motorbike ride in the crisp, cold weather of Mount Amiata in early February! The owners are very nice and advice on the daily specialities. With a fellow motorbike rider, we enjoyed the antipasto with ham, bruschetta, crostini and mouthwatering sweet onions. Then we got presented with two small servings of soups, one with mushrooms and the other the traditional ribollita. We also tasted the local ravioli and tagliatelle pastas followed by a small sausage and steak barbecued. The price was very reasonable, just to add to the appeal of this little gem. Make sure you donât miss it!

In medieval Arcidosso. A few hundred meters from parking. Inside or outside dining for lunch or dinner. The food is regional and worth a good walk. Definitely call ahead for dinner. Sometimes you can walk in but don't be disappointed. Nice slideshow of Monte Amiata and the Val D'Orcia runs as a background. The photos were taken by the proprietor. The restaurant is family operated and relies on locally produced meats and vegetables.

What can I say, where can I start? That is what I've said every visit when the fabulous meals have had the table groaning under their weight.Bring an appetite: servings are indeed generous - an understatement - and a beautiful expression of the food typical to the Amiata region. The produce is fresh, local where possible and makes the most of what the season has to offer (porcini mushrooms and chestnuts in October, local prosciutto and cheeses). There is also a great local wine selection (how could there not be in Southern Tuscany?) and the staff have sound knowledge in the wines themselves. The service itself is perfect; the staff are professional, friendly and warm.I've dined in the restaurant twice, both in autumn and winter, and ambience of the dining room, while spacious and light, is also cosy and I didn't feel like I had to whisper. In winter this would be the perfect place to relax for lunch after a morning of skiing (and working up an appetite to tackle those grand portions!). There is a great view of the ski run, the forest and the summit of Monte Amiata. In summer, this view is just spectacular. Such an unspoilt place! It goes without saying that I will be back.

A bit out of the beaten track with guests that are mostly locals, this is a small restaurant run by a nice couple with some authentic Tuscan food and good house wine. If you don't speak any Italian, communication might be a problem but in terms of food, everything is excellent so you can't really go wrong.

Little Tuscan tavern located in the heart of Monte Amiata, in the Southern Tuscany. The menu is strictly bounded to the Tuscan cooking and all dishes are prepared by following traditional recipes. The ingredients are selected with great passion, searching
Great restaurant set in a quaint village we came across on the way back to pienza from saturnia. The manager and chef were very friendly, good honest people, the house wine was delicious, the tiramisu and pannacotta to die for and just 3 euros! The mushroom and ham pizza was so good we had to order another one! Definitely no tourist trap!Thank you so much for your review. We chose for our costumers a short menu in order to provide an high food's quality.
