My wife and me decide to check this place out as we were walking on the beach during our holiday just to end up coming back as well the following day. The food was amazing, we had salad, grilled octopus and mussels, and 2 local desserts the first day and zarzuela the second day. Good value and very friendly staff made us feel welcome and very looked after. We'll be definitely back

I've known this hotel/restaurant for over 25 years, in fact since I moved to this area, and have enjoyed many celebratory meals here. Sadly my work schedule seldom allows me to stop off in Calahonda to eat, but a visit by family from the UK provided the excuse to revisit El Ancla, and we weren't disappointed. Our various tastes, from traditionally English to typically Spanish, were all catered for, with a bit of Italian thrown in, and we all ate well - too well in fact - as most of us we were defeated by the large servings. We ate on the hotel's all-weather terrace, with its lively international ambience, but there are other options too from quick pizzas to formal restaurant. The only slight negative was the service got slower as the meal progressed, but that was entirely due to it being a very busy lunchtime service - there was hardly a vacant seat, let alone table. I will certainly return.

We were visting the rum factory and went down to the beach..should have just gone back to Almunecar! Nothing open except this place had planned for lunch but the look of the place compared to the menu prices were ridiculous who would pay â¬22 for some piri prawns in a place with plastic tables and paper cloths! Miserable waiter frozen prawns for tapas. Bought a bottle of mediocre wine and a no alcohol beer over â¬25 .. no atmosphere horrible staff ..give this place a miss.

It's a typical Chiringuito from Calahonda. The chanquetes, boquerones, tomate and arroz caldoso were just great. Kids can play just close to the restaurant and atmosphere is very nice. Just 40 mins away ftom gorgeous Granada.

Sangacho is a more informal version of the concept of El Conjuro Restaurante, of the brothers Antonio and Daniel Lorenzo, located a few meters. Pizzas made at the moment and good gastronomy with local products.
It was what I thought it would be, and that is why I got disappointed! The salad was too poor and, although it was supposed to have mango fruit the one I ordered, I couldn't find it anywhere. The cod was good but the flamenquin was very soft and I can't say whether I liked it or not. Maybe I am not used to small but highly decorated dishes! Moreover, the waiter spilt a beer over us, he apologised but I think the bill should have kept that in mind as I got soaked but smiled. These are details that make me think it will take a long time me to go back.

I think is the best place in Calahonda to go dinner with friends, all the place is a terrace and the food is very good. I normally order a chicken salad and a pizza for share. The prices are so economic and the beer is always really cold! I definitely recommend if U are coming to CalahondaMuchas gracias por su opinión y también por recomendarnos.

Bar La Quintana is an establishment that serves Mediterranean cuisine in a seafaring atmosphere with a heated terrace. We are located in centre square of Calahonda where families with children can relax and enjoy the moment while the children are playing.
It's OK. They are well organised and serve quickly and effectively. The tapas are mainly based on fish or vegetables. Pescaito /fried fish is tasty although raciones should be more "generous", but the cooks are good. Besides, you can see them as they cook and that's something I like. Nothing to hide or to regreat. I think it's one of Calahonda best places to go.Thank you Inés for your comments and kind words. It's important for us to receive feedback in order further to improve. We hope to see you soon!

Lorenzo Torres brothers inherited this business from their parents in Calahonda. But Antonio, the cook, did not want to continue making only rice and skewers ... and went in depth into the creative kitchen. Chef Lorenzo has achieved to attract gastronomic
Hunted this place out on our most recent trip to Spain. Taking an opportunity to visit on a day trip down from the mountains to visit Motril. We arrived just before the lunch time rush and rush it was. Sitting in the bar area we chose to experience 3 different Arroz dishes and each were stunning with the lobster and asparagus tasting superb and the taste of the smoked duck and rosemary matching the theatre of the big reveal ( won't spoil it). A fantastic restaurant with a great twist on Spanish coastal food. Highly recommended and we will be backThank you for visiting and expressing your recommendations. We will be happy to welcome you again.
