Often, it's the staff, not the food the leaves a lasting impression of a visit. Having grabbed the last table on the deck, from where we could watch our beach things, one waiter wagged his finger and waved us away, quite rudely. His attitude changed when we said we were eating lunch, and he showed us to a four-table. BIG glasses of wine appeared, but the choice of fresh fish, once more this week, was absent! Why?We had a raw cod salad, (delicious) and butifarra and beans (honest food) and more wine and spent a relaxing lunch. At one point I offered our spare two seats to another couple, only for them to be chased away by our waiter. He obviously had a great sense of humour, but I wonder if everybody got it.

The place is all in this restaurant. Before dinner we enjoyed a cup at the terraces behind the restaurant, looking at the sea, the marvelous Cala d'Aiguablava in Begur. We ask for a cup of cava (the Catalan sparkling wine), the unexpected was that the cava was not cold enough, that's not supposed to happen ever. Then we have dinner. First we tried and liked some anchovies from the near town of L'Escala, sided by the typical Catalan "pa amb tomà quet" (sliced bread with tomatoe and olive oil, tomatoes clashed all over the bread), it was just delicious. Then we chose the "Arrós amb llamà ntol", that is, rice cooked with seafood and lobster. I mean it, you cannot help having it, I do recommend it. Tasting the rice with the lobster and seafood flavours in it is not to forget for ages. To drink we insisted with the cava but this time it was cold enough. The personnel should not be wearing that pathetic sailor-way disguise, really, they don't deserve. Anyway, if you and your couple are looking for a good place to have dinner or lunch in a wonderful place, you could reach this one. A sure value.

Typical Spanish restaurant and food, nice situation on the beach but the meal was spoilt by 2 English couples who could be heard all over the restaurant bragging about there 40 foot boat or 36 metre in metric (clearly his maths were as good has his manners). Several people asked to be moved away from this intoxicated party but surprisingly no one spoke to them and asked them to be a little quieter.

We went for lunch and we ordered the bowl of rise (very similar to paella). It was really good and tasty! I strongly recommend everyone to order this dish. Desserts were ok but a bit overpriced. Nevertheless it is a very good place to eat near Sa Tuna beach with very good views!

Laid back, beach type atmosphere, chilled out service but attentive. Had 6 adults and 4 kids. Everyone looked after well. Ordered 3 paella's, clams, muscles, squid and sides. Plenty of drinks too. Food was fantastic. Lobster Paella was outstanding. Really nice service and friendly. Best restaurant we've done in the area.

Located right at the beach of Aiguablava, Toc Al Mar offers what its name implies. Anything fresh from the sea, all tasty and delicious. The grilled sardines were superb! And great paella options! Reservation is a must. If you are lucky, you can get a table just at the seafront.

A local suggested this restaurant when told we were interested in paella. The restaurant is centrally located in the upper portion of town. The fresh salad with goat cheese was great. They placed the portion of goat cheese in a skillet for a matter of seconds which gave the cheese a thin toasted surface. The paella with squid and mussels was beautiful and delicious. The service was professional and personal. A bottle of wine and coffee completed our meals.

Fresh, simple cuisine, using local ingredients. Products are respected by our chef, and the dishes require no explanation.
This restaurant has a wonderful courtyard setting just at the bottom of the Aiguafreda car park. It has a very relaxed feel. As you would expect, there is a lot of fish/seafood although one of the party ate a very tender and beautifully cooked steak. We ate rascassa fish which was soft and juicy although the fish is perhaps not particularly flavourful in itself so might have benefitted from more seasoning. The wine is very reasonably priced, service quick, helpful and friendly. The owner, Oscar, speaks flawless English. All in all a really lovely dining experience - would definitely go back. Hi, SharonSamantha,Thank you for your review on our place. Some people might agree with you as for the seasoning, but we try to deliver fish as it is so that if offers all it has, without any additional sauces.Kindest regards,Oscar
