We had the dorade and the cod fish ( fried). Everything was ok. Dorade quit expensive for the quality. Probably the fish was not catched that day because it tasted not that fresh! Cod fish was fine, but I did not expected to be fried. I think we went on a wrong that because or experience was not that great! I recommend you to go to other fish restaurants.

El primer restaurante El Racó, que abrió sus puertas en 1975, se encuentra en la zona de ocio más importante de Palamós, cerca del puerto.
First time in Palamos so didnât know where to eat. Selected this restaurant because of its quiet location in the town square. After a few days of eating Tapas we changed to burgers! Cooked to our liking and served with sliced potatoes fried. We were served by a good humored Anglo/Canadian waitress who was polite and attentive. Child friendly place. Nos alegra que haya disfrutado de nuestras hamburguesas. Le agradecemos sus comentarios. Muchas gracias en nombre de todo el equipo, en especial de nuestra camarera. Muchas gracias.

While on a recent golfing break in the Costa Brava,my son & daughter-in-law & myself visited this restaurant for dinner. The place has had a makeover since we last visited & I'm happy to report that not alone has the interior of the building improved but the food has also if that is possible. Our hostess,Maria, ensured that our every need was attended to efficiently & warmly. One has a choice of either a tapas menu or a full meal menu. As there were three of us we decided to mix & match from both menus. Everything we had was wonderful but the Palamos fresh fish was as good as I've ever had anywhere. We will be back there again & we would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anybody who visits the area.

Restaurant located in the bay of Palamos-Sant Antoni de Calonge (Costa Brava), where seafood is served tradi tional. It's a family restaurant run today by the sons of the founders. His specialties include seafood pescadors. It has a dining room on two lev
We each had starters - Anchovies on bread and fried sardines. The fried sardines were a bit underwhelming in my opinion but my husband loved them. The anchovies were excellent! We shared the lobster paella which was very tasty, nice and hot and had a great texture. I mention the fact that it was hot because when you sit outside to hear, you do not want your food cooling off immediately. The service was also very attentive and friendly. There was only one thing I would have changed - personally,I did not need to see the lobster before they cooked him for our paella and would have preferred to be asked if I wanted to inspect him at our table. My response would have been "No Gracias". It was very nice sitting outside and even though you are sitting next to the pavement where everyone is strolling, you do not feel like you are in the middle of everyone. You can enjoy the surroundings while still feel like you are having a romantic dinner.

First things first this restaurant does not serve anything except FISHNo veggies, no meat, no nothing except the best fish you've ever tasted! The staff are amazingly friendly and show you the fish that's on offer. We had some sole and John Dory. Brilliant prawns and clams and squid. All cooked to perfection. Great local wine and a choice of pastries for dessert. Try it, it's great. Do beware it's cash only - no cards.

My partner and I tried this Restaurant whilst holidaying in Palamos. The Restaurant was very clean with appealing outside seating. The staff were attentive and could understand my poor Spanish. My partner ordered melon & ham, large exceptional portion, I had Gazpacho, lovely. We both ordered fillet steaks, med rare perfectly cooked, all great value for money including wine.

A lovely start to our holiday in Costa Brava. Warm hospitality, nice ambiance, large tables and good company. We had the jamon, cod with peas and morcilla, and the delicious suquet fish stew made with fresh fish that was presented to us and chosen beforehand. All washed down with a superb Rioja Tondonia that was excellently priced. Ended with their apple crisp which had a decadent amount of cinnamon and spice. Amazing! Would highly recommend to anyone passing through the area.

Went here as it had good reviews on trip-advisor. We were not disappointed.Really great salad and Paella. The wine I chose was not available but the manager/owner suggested another. Was a great recommendation. Very much enjoyed our time in this very busy and cosy place. Can not believe that after nearly 20 years in the area I have never been here before.Look forward to the next time.Ha sido un placer para nosotros conocernos . Estamos encantados de que hayan disfrutado de su comida , Agradecemos su confianza y recomendación. Muchas gracias.

We had a meal consisting of the set menu, consisting of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. It was all wonderful. The restaurant served us a small appetizer with olives. We ordered as appetizers fried calamari, and croquetas of chicken and of cheese. Spanish croquetas have a thin crunchy breaded coat over a pasty filling. Both types were savory, and the cheese croquetas were filled with a kind of blue cheese, which kept its distinctive flavor but was not overpowering. Two groups of two diners shared two of the signature dishes at the restaurant: seafood paella, and seafood fideua. Fideua is a dish prepared much like paella, except using inch-long pieces of broken fideos, a fine noodle commonly used is Spain for soups, instead of rice. Both were excellent. I had the chicken, also very good. For desserts, we had chocolate soufflé with raspberry sauce which was not too sweet, just a little tart; sorbet de maracuya (passionfruit) which was also tart, but delicious in taste with a great consistency; mango ice cream, sweet and very creamy with a delicious flavor; requesón (a kind of creamy Spanish cheese) with layers of honey; and crema catalana, which is sort of like a Catalan version of flan with a surface of caramelized sugar, also delicious. All the desserts are house-made. The server was very polite, attentive and engaged, offering suggestions and demurrers as he felt necessary. The woman who served as the maitre d' was also very engaging, and described what were possibly her creations â the restaurant is small, and there were only the two of them in the dining room â lovingly, and made suggestions based on preference expressed. She may have been the owner; I didn't ask. I whole-heartedly recommend it for great food. It cost us â¬170 for 5 fixed-price dinners, a couple of glasses of wine, some soft drinks, a couple of bottles of water.
