On a recent visit to the Girona and Costa Brava regions of Catalonia in northeastern Spain I had the welcome opportunity of enjoying dinner at the Ibèric ('Iberian') restaurant in the small village of Ullastret, located just a few miles from the coast. The dinner was superb in all respects, with genuine Catalan cuisine consisting of lots of fresh and grilled vegetables, seafood, and tremendous wines from the local Empordà appellation. A wonderful experience. The restaurant is family owned and run by three brothers. Enthusiastically recommended!!!

We went again twice. The owner was nice welcoming us as always, the service very friendly and efficient, even the new waitresses. We started with the typical toast and escalivada with ansjovies, mousse from rock fish with paprika sauce and snails (you have to try these!). The duck breast is the very best and the other plates well prepared and tasty served as well. Good wines, also the house wine is very good.

Restaurant in the heart of Peratallada, in the castle square. With 2 charming terraces, where you can taste the typical dishes of the Costa Brava cuisine.
We arranged to have dinner here and had the sharing platters rather than the apertisers. We particularly enjoyed the calamari and the Iberian ham. The waiter was friendly, spoke excellent english and helped us with the menu. Most of us had veal for the main course, which was tasty but served on cold plates. The wine was local and reasonably priced. Overall the meal was good value for money.

Great restaurant with a wonderful fruit trees terrace. Strategically located right by the gate of Peratellada medieval town, 5 minutes from parking. It is actually the first restaurant you will see, on your left, or the last one if are getting back to the parking lot, on the right. We stopped here for lunch before leaving Peratellada heading to Pals (August 27) and we couldnât be happier we did. The place is immaculate, the washrooms are very modern and spotless. I was impressed, you would not expect this from a small old village. It is a family owned and run business; it has been there for centuries. We met the owner, she came to greet us in person and she sent a young waiter when she heard we speak English. The waiter was a very educated fellow, student at Civil Engineering in Barcelona. Very good manners with impeccable attitude. Food is divine, local Catalan food, It was tasty, simple dishes, nothing fancy, no fine dining material but it was simply delicious. I will just let you see some pictures of what my friends had, myself I had the local Catalan homemade cannelloni. I usually donât urge people to go place I like but this time I cant stop myself, you will love both the food and the restaurant. Stop for lunch here if you are in the area and by the way, beside Perateellada, Pals, Albaraciin, Besalu and Miravet should be full part of your tour through Catalonia.

Definitely one of our favourites during our stay in begur. This restaurant is in the beautiful village of Peratallada in the middle of a lovely square. It's lovely inside, the atmosphere and experience was great. Small menu and wine list which I always prefer - focus on a few good things! Food is fantastic as is the wine - would recommend the mussels and goose. The chocolate coulada is amazing. Also best coffee we have had all holiday. Loved this restaurant highly recommended!

El Borinot is one of 14 different restaurants in the tiny town of Peratallada. The town must attract tons of visitors during summer, but in May it is quite empty of tourists. The meal and experience was nothing short of fantastic. The owner David was extremely friendly and attentive, bringing us complimentary Vermouth and schnapps. Gail enjoyed roasted duck with pears, raisins and pine nuts, while I had a chicken and prawns combination in a brown fish sauce. The appetizer was tuna tartar. Best meal we have enjoyed in Spain...and one of our best ever.Making the night complete was meeting two British gentleman who were very friendly and jovial. One was in a choir, so they continually sang snippets of songs and received poetry. They were accompanied by a local artist and inn keeper. We enjoyed chatting with them, swapping stories and laughing a lot! Yet another wonderful travel experience!

It is a cozy place where every detail is taken care of, both in the dining room and in its exquisite kitchen.
I always think that being surprised for dinner is always the best thing. The food combinations and tastes, especially the starters were really interesting. Foie gras mousse, shrimpcarpaccio with thai touch, it was all delicious. We had a large table upstairs which was really fun and entertaining with lots of things on the wall. Critisism: the portions- especially mains were too large, and too expensive. A tasting menu of 60 euros is stretching it. Where the starters excelled, the mains were not that special and too large. It was a fun evening but we wouldn't especially return again, it wasnt special enough. But service was lovely and with a special touch, also for the children with a welcome drink.

Welcome to Cala Nena , a new concept of cold kitchen with top quality fisch cans, seasoned with sauces home made, great "embutido" with our super tipical bread with tomatoe and daily specials depending on market and season !! Do not miss it!
Very nice located in charming little town, full of restaurants. The chef receives the guests and we recommend to follow his suggestions for the âcompartirâ menu. Nice smaller and bigger portions to share. Ours were all very tasteful. A little bit more expensive but certainly worthwhile.

We stumbled on this restaurant whilst looking for the restaurant opposite - and were very glad we did! Extremely good food, fine dining at a very affordable price (â¬50 each including G&Ts and wine), great service (with good English!). The chef and the proprietor came out to talk to us - theyâd only been open for 3 days and Iâm sure this place will be a great success. Incidentally, far better than the place opposite which we ate in on another day and were disappointed. Well done all the staff team at lâEixida!
At El Terral, our Chef, Dani Gomez, provides delicious Mediterranean food made with excellent local and seasonal products. Creative, innovative cuisine.
Fuimos a comer un mediodia (un viernes, creo) y en el menu habia fideuá negra. Estaba muy buena. Los primeros son tres entrantes, en plan degustación, riquisimos. EL precio genial, 19,50⬠con postre y una copa de vino.
