As far as we could tell, there were only two casual type restaurants close to the Padre Pio shrine. We ate in both. I thought this one would be great for the view but even if you were lucky enough to sit by the "view", you'd have to stand up to see it. The service was very good. Very attentive and friendly waiters!I had the beef and a side dish - which was two slices of beef smothered in gravy. It was okay. My friend had lasagna, which was typical for this area with no meat. It was okay. Food was okay, but nothing special. I can't remember the name of the pastry my friend got for dessert but it had lemon filling in it. It was delicious. I had gelato, which they had many nice choices.

Excellent food experience in a surprisingly cozy and stylish environment, set on the top floor of a building, with a beautiful view both from the outside terrace and from the large room window. Chef Michele will tease your palate! Great service from the staff and amazing value for money. Definitely a place to stop and enjoy great food and wine.

Called into this restaurant at almost 3.00 pm after driving over 200 miles that day. Even though it was nearly their closing time we were given a table and were not rushed in any was. The food was excellent as was the service. Will be returning very soon.

We stayed at San Giovanni Rotondo for a few days and came here twice. First night we went there, we were the only table, but don't be fooled, the food was amazing! The portions of the starters were almost like a platter all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Mains and deserts also right up there. Definitely would recommend if you're staying at San Giovanni Rotondo.

walked to this quaint little Restaurant and was immediately impressed with ambience and friendly waiters who made us feel most welcome and the food WOW all dishes were great and I highly recommend this place and canât wait to eat there again only disappointing thing was we all eat so so much that none of us had room for desert LOL

Had dinner a couple of times here. It was excellent food & service! Started with appetizer to main dish that all surprised us that those foods came from the kitchen in a small hotel (Hotel Leon). One of the servers looked familiar & happened to be one of the ownerâs sons. He happened to be the hotel shuttle driver one time during our stay that took me & my friend to the Sanctuary of Padre Pio. Fortunately he was appropriately dressed as server during our dining experience:). Hotel Leon is family-owned & good to see family memebers pitching in to run their business.I thank you in the name of all the staff of the Hotel Leon, our family is always present to satisfy our guests. Had a wonderful meal, excellent service. Good selection to choose from and includes vegetarian option. Very hospitable chef who seemed able to read my mind when making a choice of meal. While traveling on a Church pilgrimage from the USA with 30 people we were looking for an authentic Italian meal. Our bus driver took us here and we were all delighted! The food and wine was delicious & plentiful, the atmosphere was very nice and the service was outstanding!!!
