We found this spot just a mile down the road from our villa. What a great spot! It's always great to find the place where the locals go and this is one of them. Everyone there was so friendly, giggling at our attempts at speaking Italian and then returning the favor by laughing at their attempt of English. The food from start to finish was wonderfully prepared. My wife had a pile of huge oysters that looked like they just came out of the water. Our two sons and I shared fried calamari and these tiny clams that were sauteed in butter and garlic. Delicious! We each had a variation of pasta with seafood in it and exchanged bites, nodding and approving of each choice. We ordered a couple bottles of reasonably priced wines from the short but nice wine list with mostly regional wines on it. Overall a great experience and highly recommended if you find yourself in the area.

I couldn't believe that in a little town in the middle of Chiantishire you should eat excellent seafood, but this little restaurant can find his place side by side to a seaside one. I had calamarata with sgombri and broccoli, and three different baccalà preparation (tartare, mousse and baked with thyme). Everything was carefully prepared; the owners are very nice and full of attention for their clients and for pairing dishes with the right wine

We visited an old monastery Badia di Passignano in Greve. Close to this monastery we tried to have a light lunch at La Cantinetta di Passignano. The waiter /owner was very un helpful and could hardly understand what we asked. We also ask for their house bread which he never deliver to us , but did serve to other guests. The lunch was not good. (May be the waiter was a trainee during siesta).

La Torreâs menus are inspired by Tuscanyâs bountiful seasonal ingredients. The maxim of Executive Chef Di Pirro is, âif you want quality then you must follow natureâ. Spring brings crisp green beans, zucchini and fragrant herbs. Summer, the Tuscan ports r
We had the seafood tasting menu here. Every beautifully presented course tasted succulent. We drank an outstanding local wine: Castella della Salla Cervaro, Antinori. The service left nothing to be desired, either. We could hardly believe they served a "pre-dessert," followed by dessert, then macaroons ... but wait ... there's .... more?! Yup. A round of house-made chocolates. Whew, were done. Nope! The final, final round of dessert was the little treasure chest of miniature pastries. When was the last time you had a five-course dessert?! I forgot to mention how gorgeous the decor was--elegant, country Italian (though leaning hard toward Frenchy). It was as perfect an evening as any connoisseur diner could dream up. We'd return--but we'd be sure to budget our stomachs for the elaborate desserts! (NOTE: There was a vegetarian option for the prix fixe menu. :D This restaurant also provided one of the more outstanding breakfast buffets I've had in Europe. )Good afternoon from La Torre at Castello del Nero Litr8r86,thank you very much for your kind review, we are so pleased to read such a nice comment which reinforce our dedication to quality delivering, attention to details, to customer happyness and satisfaction. We look forward to welcoming you again and again soon to our restaurant.Best regards from Sunny Chianti.Fabio DatteroniManaging Director & General Managerand all the Team Members
