Di Poneta is a farm that is named after the site where it is located, at the edge of the Chianti region, which was chosen by the leading families of Florence during the Medici's governing period as a holiday resort because it is rich in pine forests, oliv
A family party of six, two youngsters 4 adults and all left totally swept away by both food, views and service. High in the Tuscany hills the restaurant offers a fine menu both for lunch and dinner. We were driving around the region and found our way to Osteria Di Poneta and were so pleased with our find. The service was first class, the waiter had limited English but the chef was fluent and between us we came to choose some great dishes. All our plates were returned clean. Wild boar, steaks, duck and of course pasta dishes were delightful. Maybe there was a downside when the children requested ice cream for a desert only to discover it was on the menu up there, strange to be in Italy and find a restaurant that was devoid of ice cream. In truth they had been well fed already. Price was above expectations but when you leave satisfied it is of less importance.

The pizza here is excellent..thin base, tasty toppings and cooked perfectly. Locals call in for their takeaway pizza and I can see why.Pasta was ok. Just ok. Nothing special.Decor is plain, toilets are clean, staff are friendly. Pizza is good value but if you're underwhelmed by pasta dishes you may feel cheated.

Busy restaurant where we stopped for lunch. Steaks were enormous cooked on an open log burning oven which gave them a particularly smokey flavour. Tasty lasagna and homemade pasta dishes followed by a range of desserts. Prices reasonable and popular with the locals at lunchtime. Would recommend this restaurant for large parties but book before you arrive.Restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.

Locale senza pretese che punta alla sostanza; la pizza è gustosa e leggera, ha una buona scelta di birre, il personale è sempre sorridente. Conto nella norma.

We ate here twice the first time as a couple, the second time as a family group. We really enjoyed the food here, the stand out dishes were the wild boar pasta (cinghiale) and mushroom pasta, the tiramisu and really unusual rose flavoured Torta della Nonna. We also thought the house wines were lovely, the white turned out to be a jug of Prosecco which for â¬3 for 1/2 litre was great value. Nice location overlooking the river, there is outside space but only available for dinner I think. This restaurant does great traditional food, meat eaters probably fare best here and we think it's fantastic value, we had the mixed antipasti starter, 6 plates of pasta, 2 side dishes, 1/2 litre Prosecco, 1 litre red wine, and 5 desserts all for under â¬100, and nice friendly staff who love kids. We drove past it the first time though as it has Albergo written on the building at the bottom and the Da Marino bit is much higher up on the building.

I have been to Artemide with a group 10 friends for a Saturday lunch. Artemide delivered excellence from all points of view. We had a full lunch: antipasti, primi (3 types of pasta to share), secondi (meat and vegetarian dishes for some of us), dessert. All was excellently prepared. Typical Tuscan kitchen but not too obvious. The portions, though we ordered a lot of different dishes, were just right: not too much, not too little. We followed the suggestions of the waiter, who took all the necessary time to explain, advice and listen to us (while cracking funny jokes). The setting was amazing, right in the middle of the Tuscan hills with an incredible view on the green landscape. On top of that, I paid less than I was expecting. Highly recommended.

L'endroit est très retiré mais la vue de la terrasse mérité vraiment le détour. Tous les plats choisis, de l'entrée aux pâtes, étaient très bons et tout ça à des prix très légers. L'accueil et le servie étaient nickels.

We had spent a day in Florence and had called our agriturismo for suggestions for a restaurant and this was their suggestions. They took all 14 of us. The servers tolerated our lack of Italian and were extremely helpful when it came to making suggestions! We had wonderful pizzas and pasta- possibly our best meal to that date despite our time in Venice!
