We visited Caffe Umberto at the recommendation of our host. She actually recommended Eno Club, which is the Sister restaurant just downstairs. We dined upstairs in the more casual Caffe Umberto. It was a happy accident! The wine list was very extensive (mostly wines from the Langhe region. Which is why you come to Alba anyway, right?!) and the sommelier was very knowledgeable although a bit hard to have a conversation with. The menu was not as extensive as the restaurant downstairs, but had many delicious options. We happened to be there during the truffle season, so we enjoyed the Alba white truffles. When paying our bill, the manager offered us a complimentary tasting of Grappa. We enjoyed it so much we made a reservation for the following night downstairs at EnoClub.

We ate dinner here twice during our 5 day stay in Piemonte region of Italy.Chef Gabriele treated us like family and, on both evenings, came to our table to ask us what we wanted to eat. The first night, he recommended a delicious "Tuscan" steak--huge bone in rib eye done to perfection, which was more than enough for the two of us.The second night, he recommended his homemade "plin" (tiny ravioli)--fabuloso!Also, he offered some wonderful fried Portobello mushrooms that had been picked that morning on the nearby mountain. Both evenings, we had wonderful antipasti to start--eggplant, peppers, beef tartare, and more.Yummy homemade desserts, too. And an amazing cheese board. We had a carafe of the red table wine and it was great, though you could order a Barolo or Barbaresco or other as well. Light on atmosphere, big on great food in a friendly atmosphere, steps from Villa D'Amelia, where we stayed.Bravo Gabriele!

...Enoclub is a must. Very friendly people and even last year which wasn't a good year Luca was able to serve a good white truffle. This year for me again a very good meal, for my wife less good since Red Mullet is not really here taste and unfortunately the Tuna Tartar wasn't anymore on the menu. We spoiled ourselves with a 2010 Romirasco, a Barolo made by Aldo Conterno. As a main court I ordered the Tagleri with white truffle. Very good as usual. A good bottle of Wine, Pasta and saved white Truffel - what do you need more....

Beautiful restaurant situated in Neive, Piedmont. Some of us had the 5 course dinner which was lovely, and some of us tried pasta and meat coarses (also great). We had a Brunello from La Spinetta which was fantastic and for dessert we ate their faboulus pannacotta. Absolutely fantastic terrass!

Ape Wine Bar has a surprisingly delicious lunch with an extensive menu. Much more than wine and bar snacks, this wine bar has a full menu of pasta, meat, and seafood options. The pasta and dessert that I enjoyed here with a couple of glasses of local white wine exceeded expectations. Service was also attentive and food came out quickly.I would not hesitate to choose this again and again. In fact, I am glad my local connection to Ape Wine Bar introduced me.

We had a delightful meal at Wine Story. Itâs truffle season and, having tasted them earlier in the week, at a modest little lunch spot, at a modest price, we were very keen to sample some more. This time the waiter brought a basket of deliciously stinky white truffles to choose from. Our chosen truffle was weighed, and a price per gramme quoted. Did we work it out? No. Truffle was ceremoniously grated over all our food. Delicious! When the bill came, the price for the truffle, scribbled in pencil on a piece of paper, came to 95 euros. Dearie me. At first we thought weâd been taken for a ride. But other guests at our B&B told of a 195 euro truffle, seen at a local restaurant earlier in the week. Truffles are apparently like diamonds - the bigger ones command higher prices! An experience and a half . But one that will break the bank if repeated soon. Service was excellent and the restaurant went to some trouble to accommodate dietary requirements.

We had the braised beef in Barbaresco wine, with a very small portion of mashed potatoes and some vegetables. It tasted good, but we already had the same dish better. What made the experience less was the attitude of the staff, not so friendly and even a bit arrogant

Simple typical Piemontese fare but the big attraction is the wide selection of local wines. Great bar.
A fantastic welcome, great charcuterie, sensational wine selection. The pasta with raw egg and truffle is just excellent. If you to neive this has to be on you list. Very traditional very friendly.
