Our second meal in the Langhe was at this modest place in the Pizza of Montelupo Albese. A lovely hilltop village with astounding views and interesting artworks on the walls of the houses. (Not exactly Banksie but do wander around and look!) Emanuela, the hostess is charming and explains the menu in detail. We ended up taking 4 courses as it all sounded so enticing. We particularly liked the local pasta dishes - tajarin and agnoletti del plin, and our sweet and sour rabbit main course was delicious as were the desserts. We drank modestly, taking a bottle of the local village-produced Arneis at â¬10 (very light and fruity) and a moscatel d'Asti with dessert - again just right. We paid around â¬80 and really enjoyed our meal

........one half excellent, the other rather disappointing. This traditional restaurant is run by two charming men who obviously work very hard at what they do. The interior is a mix of quirky and traditional and has a lovely atmosphere. The menu is written in Italian on a large chalk board and we were given a translation by our host (a virtuoso performance that brought him out in a sweat) whose command of English was limited. With seven of us asking questions as well his effort was heroic. We had to follow our noses a bit as far as wine choice was concerned because of language difficulties but selected a very pleasant Nebbiolo. Our anti pasti and primi courses were excellent but then it all went downhill. By this time the restaurant was becoming very busy and the two guys were run off of their feet and we seemed to have become 'invisible'. Four of us order the secondi course and we had to wait for over an hour for it to arrive, despite asking if we had been forgotten. When the meals eventually arrived disappointing would be an understatement, the duck was not properly cooked and the veal rather tasteless and tough. We thought about sending them back but decided not too in view of the long wait in the first place.Hence the meal of two halves.I hate having to criticise restaurants when the people who run it work so hard and are so charming but we paid over â¬50 a head, not cheap.

This restaurant was absolutely worth the 2 hour drive. We had a great Saturday lunch with prefix menu. Every dish was delicious and portions very generous. The menu consisted of a variety of meat and pasta dishes, very typical piedmont cuisine. The trio of desserts is something I will dream about for a long time. Wine recommendations were great and much appreciated. I highly recommend this place and will come back whenever Iâm back in the area. This is truly a gem. The family running it is very nice and sweet. Great value. Spectacular view of the nearby vineyards.

The proprietor of this vinoteca/restaurant is famous, and rightly so! A tiny place, serving around 25, seated in two storeys, plus, weather permitting, a few tables outdoors. Here, on offer, are exviting wines and Champagne, cold cuts of the highest quality from Spain and Italy, a salad, some cheese, a couple of really good pastas, two mains and a couple of desserts. Simple but awesome. Extremely popular and a must to visit!!

This restaurant is part of the "Il Boscareto resort", a couple of miles outside the community of Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. The luxurious resort offers superb lodging in a beautiful building that sits on top of one of the many hills in the Langhe. The view is spectacular, and the resort is surrounded by vineyards. From here, you can see several of the other communities of the Alba conglomerate: Barolo land! The spa offers Turkish and steam baths and a full wellness center. The restaurant is sparingly and elegantly furnished, with simple lines and subdued colors. Service is discreet and efficient. The tasting menu changes with the availability of ingredients and the Michelin-starred chef requires the freshest of all components for his exceptionally delicious creations. Relax and let the chef do the heavy lifting. This will be a memorable experience.Dear Gabriel,Thank you for sharing your experience with us.We are extremely glad you enjoyed Il Boscareto. The location, the SPA, the restaurant and all the services are meant to spoil our guests and your words make us proud and happy.Greetings from Serralunga D'Alba!Lorena, Il Boscareto Resort & SPA Team

We had a great lunch here. The food was delicious (a touch modern) with superb freshness and execution. The wine list is fabulous! So many gems, so little time. Great views of the vineyards. Friendly service. All around excellent.

Torri has wonderful views but the food is not particularly good. It serves piemontese cuisine and uses good ingredients but everything seems a bit bland and uninspired. All the plates are pretty, but the focus seems to be more on presentation than on taste. As there are plenty of other restaurants in the town and the area with great views (and better food), there seems to be little reason to go here.

Traveling through the PIedmonte region, we found this lovely trattoria for our lunch. It's obviously a local favorite as there were a number of locals there. We were seated quickly under a beautiful tree and overlooking the valley. The setting was so special that the food was secondary - almost. They had a very nice and varied menu so we had no problem selecting - and we chose their ravioli in a light cream sauce. It was incredible, and went quite well with their wines, which we definitely enjoyed. After all, we were in Piedmonte! This was a delightful experience and just reinforces our observation that Italy has the best food and wine!

We went on wednesday for lunch but anticipated that tuesday and wednesday were closing days. With motherday on thursday ahead we tried to to have an appointment and noticed, the first contact to be friendly and very detailed explanations about the various options possible. We had a short lunch with one plate and desert. The Quality of the different plates for the 5 People in our group was all rated as exceptionally good and tasty, and all homemade ingredientsThe ice cream was fantastic and homemade aswell.Coming so many years to Serralunga d'Alba i regret not visiting this restaurant before. The restaurant has an inviting outside terrace. The outstanding rating given for a short lunch might be exagerated, but having dining allover the world one can judged that this Osteria demonstrate Quality and service guaranteed.

We had two meals in this restaurant. The first evening it was really very good, with an excellent fresh tomato sauce on our pasta, which was cooked to perfection and a delicious tagliata. We were so impressed that we returned the next evening, only to be somewhat disappointed. They were very busy as it was a Friday evening, and the food was simply not as good. I wouldn't go back there to eat at the weekend, but there were plenty of Italians having a pre-dinner buffet and drinks (the aperitivo), which all looked very interesting. I would stick to that next time.
