When visiting La Morra recently, one of our winemaker friends, one of the top producers actually, took us for lunch. She said this is a really simple place, but run by one of the Slowfood founders. By the roadside, outside of the village of Cherasco and by a gas station, was this bistrot. Inside bright colours and modern design. Behind the counter you could choose from excellent cheeses and hams, and all sorts of antipasti. After lots of excellent antipasti and really good homemade bread we ordered carne cruda, and it was of top quality veal, perfect!! Rounded off the meal with icecream "artisanal". Good wine list also. Good pricing. Don't hesitate to try it, so fresh, and delicious, but the setting is far from "fine dining" . And, in spite of the very modern interior, there are treasures like piedmontese specialities to be found, check out our photo of carpione misto for example!!

Have been visiting this wonderful restaurant since it was in it's other location. Now just around the corner from old site. The service is great. The food is incredible! Had the ravioli...terrific. Special of the evening was guinea hen....wow....it was great with crisp tasty vegetables. The appetizer of beef with tuna is amazing. Everything about this restaurant is great. Recommend if you are in the area.

Very very disappointed, had the full tasting menu , not one course worthy of a Michelin one star, in all this chef has lost the plot. Wine flight excellent.att. Mr Arthur WWe read your message and we regret of your opinion. More details about your negative experience should be appreciated. Fortunately the main opinions of our guests are positive.

Went there for our first lunch in Piedmont. The food was excellent (ravioli stuffed with snails, a local delicacy, another kind of pasta, 2 different pana cottas), and the Barolo of superb quality for a very, very decent price. Add to this a friendly owner, and this was one of our best eating experiences in the region.

The cuisine at the Somaschi Hotel is served at «Il Teatro del Monastero di Cherasco»: an in-house a la carte restaurant, where wholesome ancient flavours in the best tradition of the Cuneo region are masterfully revisited by our International Kitchen staf
We stayed at the hotel and had dinner on the restaurant's beautiful balcony/terrace. The food and wines were very good, offering a very good value for money, and the service was friendly and attentive. Recommended!

As a group of 23 Scots we take some looking after and the owners did a great job. Food was exceptional and wine even better. Our wine was a Barbera D'Alba from Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa, one of if not the best we have tasted on our trip. We only new of this restaurant because one of the party was a cousin of the owners, a real gem to be found for those who make the effort. We met the chef at the end of the meal, what a lovely guy and the owners did all they could to make our afternoon special. If we ever come back to this area, we will make an effort to return. Many thanks Angelo for making this happen.

I've been in September for my girlfriend's birthday. The atmosphere is intimate and homely altough smart. You can chose to eat outside or inside. The staff is really nice and quick. Food is well-done and the quality of ingredients is quite high. The main courses are the plates I suggest more for the ratio quality/price. The second course is tasty but it is quite small. If you want to try typical "langhe" food it is the place for you.

My wife and I had an amazing experience here. We came in with a reservation and were greeted like they had been expecting old friends. The owner and his wife run this place. The service was fantastic!!We weren't really sure what to order and we had spent all day drinking wines, so we were kind of beat. We ended up thrusting ourselves into their trusty hands. We ended up basically getting a wine pairing menu for the evening. It was amazing. It literally became a wild ride of delicious. If we had stayed longer, we probably would have been back every night. Please, please, please go here! You'll love it.
