What an extraordinary experience.Food service and wines were great with marvellous views across the valley to Alba.A great eating experience.The indoor restaurant had exceptional historic decor.Ask for a tour of the other rooms on the same level-fascinating.

We are so impressed with this dining experience. The staff are so so friendly, very knowledgeable about the local region and are so happy to share their knowledge of the wines in this area. A wonderful wine list if both local and other regions. The restaurant has amazing views of the surrounding vineyards and town. BUT the best feature on top of all the above, is the food. Just come and experience this for yourself, you won't be disappointed. We came in the evening and you can sit outside on their beautiful outdoor deck or inside and enjoy the views also. Their is also a beautiful cheese trolley - need i say more.

On the first page of La Madernassa's menu, chef Mammoliti outlines his culinary philosophy and lists an impressive number of top chefs and restaurants with whom he has apprenticed. One of these is Alain Ducasse's 3-Michelin star, Le Louis XV in Monaco. Having dined at both, I can honestly say that chef Mammoliti's food was better.I have many food intolerances so instead of choosing specific dishes from the menu, I put myself in chef Mammoliti's hands and asked him to prepare anything he wanted for me. I'm happy I did. Everything he made was seasonal, balanced, and quite simply, delicious. His flavours were at times light, often complex but always skillfully done. Here and there he incorporated amusing touches like his beetroot amuse bouche that resembled the red, crunchy coating on a candy apple but tasted like beets.His ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, in fact, some were from his greenhouse, just steps from the kitchen. Of the three courses he prepared for me, my second course, a spring herb risotto was my favourite. It was bright green and exquisite - like the essence of spring. I shamelessly cleaned my plate with tiny loaves of his home-made chestnut-grain bread that had a texture like cake, paired perfectly with the food, and tasted like candy when dipped in a little bowl of Ligurian olive oil that they served on the side.The staff were helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. They were able to describe the dishes in detail and answer our questions about the ingredients. The wine list was varied, lengthy, and not at all expensive. Same for the dinner which we thought was really inexpensive considering the quality and quantity of the dishes and how generous they were with amuse bouche and petit fours.I'd happily drive there again just to eat at his restaurant. I'm curious to know what he creates with summer, fall and winter ingredients.

There is nothing about the location of Re Artu that would attract the casual traveler, located as it is at the end of a small shopping center at the side of a heavily trafficked state road. However, our friends in neighboring towns have dubbed it their favorite pizzeria, and with good reason. Pizza is excellent, including some of the lesser-familiar combinations (on a friend's recommendation, we enjoyed the sausage and gorgonzola with sauteed onions). We've heard good things about the appetizers, can personally vouch for the desserts, and there's a separate menu to accommodate all the beer offerings. There is nothing special about the modern decor, but the atmosphere is one of freshness and efficiency, accompanied by friendly, welcoming service. We return to this area annually, and supper here is always on our to-do list.

Three years before my wife and I had a lovely dinner at the tenuta. This time i used their own webform to reserve a table for 31.05.2016. Within one week : no response. One day before the date i tried to phone them. No response. My wife and I showed up at the restaurant at the reserved date.... and the restaurant was closed. The next day i wrote a mail to request an explanation.... no response. This behaviour imho is unacceptable.

First visit since 2015 and during our absence chef Odero has been working a while at the castle of Guarene. Now back and ambitious as always. Food is firmly based on Piedmont traditions but inspired by France and Guide Michelin fans. The amuse and coffee sweets are among the best around, love them! Foi gras in various versions was super, as was the lamb. It is too easy to overeat though...

With the knowledge of having visited Naples a month ago, we went to this restaurant with a sense to remain relatively "fair" and not to benchmark with the pizza temples in Naples. But what a surprise!!! It was so good and the pizza can easily compete with the best in Italy. The reason is quite simple. There where in Naples everything is controlled and needs to meet "the requirements" this place does it voluntary; dough that seems to have rested also a bit, San Marzano (Vesuvius) tomatoes, DOP mozzarella and other ingredients also from the best. The result is stunning and outside of Naples, this was the best pizza I have eaten.. There is however one big difference vs Naples pizzeria's; here the staff is friendly and seems to enjoy their work! Parfetto! Ps; don't miss the delicious desserts too..

Once you managed to find the house, pleasure starts. Appealing rustic interior, polished staff, lots of small signs of civilisation.Wine list with plenty of local top wines.Food very well made. Touching one star Michelin.Piped music unbearable.

The staff were all, as expected, ultimate professionals and our limited Italian was no issue. We sat outside on a balmy night which was lovely. From the snacks at the start to the post dessert snack trolley every mouthful was amazing. This was our favourite restaurant so far. The serves were generous and you definitely will leave satisfied.

Exceptional service - extremely efficient, smooth, and quiet. Exceptional food starting with an amuse platter with at least 7 different items. All unique. Great main courses. Dessert was a sugar shell that looked like an egg with panna cotta inside with a passion fruit "yolk". Amazing. This was followed by at least 6 dessert bites. Top class from start to finish.
