Good local restaurant where I ate really well; He feels the quality and freshness of the products, the service is good, the kitchen is directed by the same owner, and it tastes great. I advise.

Simple low key and casual family restaurant. Friendly service. Wide assortment of pizzas. Basic pasta dishes and meat and fish. It appeared they also did take away. Nothing exceptional but good, easy place to eat and opens at 7 for dinner. Just a little bit on outskirts of town... Less than 5 min in car.

Weâre from California and our B&B hostess at Casale Valleverde, Sylvana, recommended Origini, specifically Andrea the chef. We had eaten at a Michelin 1 star the night before, but even they could not compare to Andreaâs culinary skill and creativity. He is young, passionate and determined, and such a host. He arrived at our table and explained both the dishes on his menu and his culinary philosophy, and his vision for his restaurant. He uses traditional Italian dishes- for example, risotto, carpaccio, bagnacauda - and puts a Calabrian twist, using local (and some Puglianese foods - e.g. beef). âSimpleâ he calls it; âscrumptiousâ we said. Risotto used Sibari rice, and local Pollino National Park black truffles decorated the Puglianese beef carpaccio. (The truffle and shaver were left at the table to use at will!!). A buffalo mozzarella (twice creamed) served with wonderfully-flavored local tomatoes was a starter. Andrea, who is from Castrovillari, has returned (thus âOriginiâ) to his roots from chef travels in Japan, Copenhagen and London. He wants to celebrate Calabrian cuisine and share his inspiration with Calabrians and visitors to the region. He is way too young to be so accomplished: he himself should be celebrated for his talent. Do not miss Origini!

In the heart of the city, a short walk from the historic center of Castrovillari, Ristorante Del Cavaliere is a convenient reference point for guests of the most important hotels in the immediate vicinity. Elegant and refined atmosphere, enlivened by warm
Very good restaurant, which has been delivering high standard service for quite a few years by now. This time we had, as a first dish, âgnocchi al pesto rossoâ, a kind of dumpling pasta savored with ândujaâ (a spicy red sauce typical of this region), basil, nuts, served on a bed of crusty cheese. It was excellent, the spicy sauce beautifully mixed with the other ingredients, so that the taste of the pasta itself could be clearly appreciated. As a second dish, it came a beef âtagliataâ (slices of medium-roasted beef meat), savored with a nduja-based sauce. It was good, the meat was of a good quality, although its level of excellence remained below the one of the first dish. The above was accompanied by a glass of local red; a wide selection of wines was available. The menu was not very long but included quite a number of dishes that had been specially designed and canât be found in other restaurants. The service staff was prompt and attentive all the time, as so often happens in this restaurant. Environment was quiet and elegant, making this place a great choice for invitations. Prices are not cheap, but I believe they are in line with the high standard of the place.

Comfortable seating outside, good service, very good food â This restaurant is one more venue in this town that has been able to maintain a quite good standard over the last few years, and thatâs properly reflected in the customerâs high rate of return. This time we had âbaccalaââ, thatâs salted codfish, a very traditional Italian way of preparing cod. Spaghetti with baccalaâ were very good, the fish was tasty and tender and the sauce delicious. Also the pizza with baccalaâ (a version of pizza not easy to find) was really good.Definitely a restaurant to keep in mind also for friendsâ invitation.

We were recommended this restaurant by our B&B owner. The restaurant had good ranges of menu with meat, fish and vegetables. The dishes were delicious with not too typical of the dishes. I had marinated salmon with pistachios and it was great! The shef seems experimenting with menu therefore few interesting, unique menu such as angel hair spaghetti with saffron and squid. It was something I never tried before and I think it's depend of people's preference of flavor but I liked it!The stuff and shef were very helpful for us to pick from the menu, tried to explain if we did not understand the Italian. They also prepared nice dish of vegetables for vegetarian in our group and there were beautiful.Nice that there is an outdoor area to sit and enjoy the night in this local restaurant.

Wanting to eat lunch as we drove into Morano Calabro, Italy we saw the signs for this fine eatery. We were so glad we did as we had a delicious light lunch.. Most items had fresh fish in them so if you are not interested in eating fish you might not find much to choose from on the menu!
