My husband and i visited recently. We arrived around 5pm as u cannot book a table for 2 people. We were seated straight away. service was good. they were quiet at that time as it wasnt long opened. It started to pick up from about 5.45pm so be prepared to wait if u turn up after 6pm especially at the weekend. Menu had a nice selection. Food was delicious, well presented and tasty. Lovely friendly atmosphere.

Val's never lets you down! I went there yet again, with a group of 20 others to enjoy our Active Retirement Christmas Dinner 2018, and we certainly weren't disappointed! The four-course menu available had enough variety to more than satisfy everyone. Everything was beautifully cooked, the service was efficient and 'merry' and a jolly good evening was enjoyed by all! The lovely Christmas décor really helped to make the evening special and we thank the restaurant staff sincerely for looking after us all so well! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We came here for a mid morning cuppa. There is a welcoming energy here as well as the staff welcome. Tables are nicely spaced with colourful oilcloths. The pottery was a really fine colour with everything matching. We had cappucini with some gluten free toast for me. They had a few gluten free offerings but nothing homemade. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy. Yes, a return visit is in order

Lovely, restaurant in one corner of the ever-improving Shrine. Menu comprehensive and staff very helpful BUT service should be more based on carvery-style i.e. customers line up with trays at counter/display and order as the queue passes the display up to the Checkout. Therefore, no waiting for waitress service - though it's fast enough.Thank you for your lovely comments. I can tell you the Café did try queuing at the counter last year but it was not a success at all. Bear in mind we have many elderly & disabled customers who would find it difficult to manage carrying a tray of food & drinks. We have excellent waiting staff & do try to deliver orders as fast as possible. We can also interact more with our customers that way.

Whilst staying locally, we decided to come in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. There was lots of variety on the menu and the portions were very generous. The two members of staff who served us were lovely and very attentive. Clearly recognising our accents they took the time to make conversation with us about what we were doing in Ireland. Will definitely eat here again if we are back in the area.

Just a short drive from Ballyhaunis, we had dinner here on a Tuesday evening. Reservations are a must since this is a small restaurant. Check their web site to see their great menu selection. The staff is very friendly and the service good except we had to wait 15 minutes for our check after the meal. They serve good size portions of food and there is a value menu from 5-7 PM. The chicken caesar salad starter was almost a meal by itself with a lot of chicken. The goat cheese bon bons starter was excellent. The grilled salmon with shrimp and basil cream sauce was excellent, but there was very little shrimp in the sauce. The Old Arch chicken supreme was excellent and the black pudding stuffing added a little spice taste.

Had heard about this place from two different people raving about it and I was not disappointed!I met a friend for brunch and we both had the avocoda and poached eggs with salsa on wholemeal toast. All the tastes and flavours complimented each other and it was served with tea/coffee.We were both really impressed with the service, food and value for money. I cant wait to return!

Situated in Brickens on the N60, exactly halfway between the towns of Claremorris & Ballyhaunis
Called in for lunch & to read the paper. Excellent service from Damien, really friendly & welcoming guy, a true professional. Had the cajun chicken burger & sweet potato fries which were both excellent. Great selection of local beers which unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try this time but will be back
