Jack Fenn's Courtyard Cafe is Ballina's new foodie destination situated in the courtyard at Belleek Castle. The cafe itself is housed in the former 1820's stables & coach house at Belleek Castle. The exterior brickwork & character has been restored and th
Popped in for the first time during the week, ludicrous when we live nearby. I was pleasantly surprised how utterly charming it is, a mix of old and new decor wise and a menu of complete deliciousness. Looking at the menu of locally sourced ingredients, I was half sorry I had eaten my lunch! Anyway...myself and my daughter decided on tea, hot chocolate and chocolate cake to share. It was divine, the cake warm, moist and sooo chocolatey without being dense and heavy. Tasty coffee and my little girl loved the hot chocolate which theyâd kindly made (without me asking) to a cooler temp for her and a good sprinkle of marshmallows. The food coming out to tables looked and smelled delicious. It wasnât expensive especially when you think of the pain it is parking in town, parking tickets, dragging kids into the high street chains of coffee places. Where, to be fair, is packet food, over priced coffee and really you could be anywhere. Jack Fenn is gorgeous on a rainy afternoon, walks in the woods nearby on the better days and my daughter loved it. Now to bring the whole tribe for a test As an aside, the staff were lovely getting bits for me to feed the baby without any fuss. Which is lovely when juggling the younger kiddies

Stopped by for lunch and had good food at very reasonable cost. We wanted a snack and they were very happy to revise the sandwich menu to suit our requirements. The satff were very friendly and the place is well frequented by local people; the carry-out service they offer seems very popular. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Traditional Fish&Chips. Breakfasts, dinners, roasts, pizzeria.
I love Cafollas forever. I have always been a customer. The chips are home made and fresh and taste delicious. They do so many things well but really once the chips are right itâs such a head start. The place is lovely and clean and fresh. The staff are nice especially the owner who always makes sure to greet everyone. The roast chicken breast, pizza and chicken curry is great, the burgers and doner kebabs, coleslaw. Love it all.

We were staying in the hotel, so had breakfast here every morning and had dinner here one evening. The breakfast was delicious with a good selection. Continental breakfast with the addition of freshly cooked to order hot food. I was hooked on the eggs benedict from the first and couldn't resist order them every morning! This dinner was equally as delicious as the breakfast with prompt and attentive service from the staff. Lots of fresh fish to choose from it's in Ballina! But other great options such as pork and steak. As a sweet lover, the best part was the desert. I had a chocolate, almond and orange cake, and it was to die for.The views are beautiful with floor to ceiling windows right in the banks of the river Moy. We were watching the vast wildlife on the river and it's banks throughout out wonderful meals here. The food was also reasonable priced. Definitely somewhere I'd highly recommend, and if your staying in or passing through Ballina the Ice House Restaurant is well worth it.Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel. Im delighted you enjoy your stay and the Food in the restaurant for both Breakfast and dinner. Ill be sure to pass on your lovely comments to all the staff. Regards Niall Kerins

Brennanâs Lane is in the heart of Ballina, on the evocatively named Garden Street. From outside it looks quite small, but this is deceiving as it stretches way back and is actually huge. It has an almost Tardis quality in the amount of space inside. Downs
A group of us, 4 adults and 7 children ate in Brennan's lane bar and restaurant for the first time today. The restaurant located upstairs is clean, cosy and nicely decorated. The Sunday lunch menu had a nice selection and wasn't overly priced. The children's food came first which was good. Only complaint, the restaurant had wha seemed only 1 waitress, we were waiting a long time to get ketchup. The waitress was over worked and restaurant could've done with more waiting staff. Having said that, the food was so so tasty and one of the nicest Sunday lunches I've had in a long time. I look forward to returning to Brennan's Lane bar and restaurant.

Drove up from Pontoon. Arrived just before the lunch ended at 4:00 so went into the pub area for a pint. For me, a sign of a well-thought out Pub is having hooks to hang purses. The Cot & Cobble is a well-thought out Pub as there was a nice brass hook to hang my purse. We had asked the bartender what time dinner was served and he said shortly after 4:00 p.m. after they cleaned up The Carvery. The bar tender must have advised someone we wanted to eat dinner as another staff member asked us if we had asked about dinner and brought us two menus to look at.While we drank our pints, the same gentleman came over to say he had a table ready for us. We were feeling pampered. My husband and I had the Portabella mushroom appetizer which was very good. We both ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas. The fish was nice and hot and tasty. Mushy peas were very good too. There were a ton of chips and my husband and I could have shared one serving. We pushed the stomach full meter by ordering their Rhubarb Crumble. OMG it was divine with custard, whipped cream AND ice cream. The management certainly takes pride in The Cot as it was very clean inside and out. The windows looking towards the Mayo Rover were extremely clean. Before we head back to the States we hope to eat at The Cot & Cobble again.

We were driving along the coast and stopped in at the Tea Room at Belleek Castle in Ballina, County Mayo. It is in an attached building on the side of the Castle and it is very attractive. We had excellent Cappuccini there! It was sunny and we leisured there a bit looking out at the courtyard. We walked through a bit of the hotel and saw the room that was salvaged from an Armada ship. It was very interesting to see! The staff was very nice.Dear Bourlingueur60,Thank you for taking your time to leave us feedback of your visit to the Jack Fenn Cafe. It is a pleasure to hear you enjoyed your visit. The cafe has such a lovely atmosphere and what better way to enjoy a sunny day than relaxing in our courtyard.I do hope you have a chance to visit again in the future perhaps for an overnight stay, a guided tour of the castle or even a dining experience in The Library Restaurant.Warm Regards,Shannen

We were a family group of twelve on a Friday night for dinner. The ambiance is lovely helped by the courtyard entrance. The attentive and friendly service added greatly to our enjoyment. The special birthday treat for our son arranged at very short notice on a busy night was most appreciated. The food is delicious and yes the portion sizes are hearty and god value! The house wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. Thanks to the Dillon's team for looking after us and we look forward to returning when next over the West.
