Passing by this restaurant by chance, we saw a lot of people inside and decided to try it. The meat filet my boyfriend had was delicious! The meat tender, cooked the good way and the sauce was super good. However, the french fries were a disaster! I dont understand how it is possible no to make good french fries, especially that they came frozen. I ordered a tartar and was surprized to see the waiter coming with a trolley with all kind of different salts, peppers, spices..;to accomodate the tartar my own way. This is a super idea! Too bad that the tartar came a bit late and thus my boyfriend ate his meat filet before my plate came and while I was starting my dish, he was almost finishing his own.

In hindsight we should have ordered pizza as when other customers received them they look amazing and when you go in the restaurant you can see the dough being made and the pizza oven is at full view. Alas I had pasta which was tasty but not mindblowing, my husband had a mixed grill which was good value with lots of meat. The outside eating area is atmospheric but it's a bit of a shame you overlook the car park and a building site on the opposite side of the road. When we visit the area again in the future we will go here again but no doubt go for the pizza's.

We stayed in Lugano and went to Italy to visit some old churches. It became rather late and we decided to gave dinner in Italy rather then in Lugano. It too some time before we find this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. It was really a hidden gem.Very good cock, fresh ingredients, local dishes, nice and not pretentious atmosphere and excellent price-quality rate. The quality of food was higher then in average restaurant in Lugano and the prices much lower. Highly recommended! It is only 20-30 mints by car from Lugano.

The restaurant & guest house is located in the historic center of Gandria, overlooking the Ceresio lake. From the interior terrace you can enjoy a spectacular view of the landscape in which it's located the village, one of the ten most beautiful of Switze
May 9I knew this resto would be a highlight. Our only Swiss lunch at a tiny locanda owned by Davide Crobe, originally from Sardinia, who has personally made his mark in a village overshadowed by Lugano. He stopped by to greet us.As we were the first diners, we could have any table including the few on the terrazza overlooking Lake Lugano, but rain threatened. The fresh persico fillets were outstanding while my wife had the ravioli. The food was delicious but the price was dear at 64E, but this locale seemed exceptional.

Small and intimate restaurant in the beautiful village of Gandria, with lake view. The cuisine is mainly based on seasonal and regional ingredients (km zero) and it draws on different traditions revising them with a pinch of creativity. All the preparation
We reserved a table based on reviews we had read and were not disappointed! The proprietor was very helpful with helping us understand the menu which was written in Italian. The menu options were relatively limited but there was something to please everyone's palate. Two of our group chose from some Summer changes to the menu and were pleased with their meals. I chose the nettle ravioli which was the perfect choice for a light lunch on a hot day!

We were lucky to find space, even on a weekday lunch it was full.Food was great, a very big apetizer, good portioned primi, and very good mains. Polenta with Cervo was delicious.Only point of note was service was a bit confused with people being served at different speeds that we could see was frustrating a few people but if your patient its no problem.2 apetizers, 1 gnoccheti primi, 2 mains polenta and cervo, tagliata, 1/2 litre red, water coffees and a small mixed plate of desserts for 40 euro plus a small chicken and potato dish for my daughter. excellent value

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and ordered the 'terroir' tasting menu featuring moist sweetbreads, a lemon/bay leaf risotto, fork-tender venison and flaky prune tart. As one would expect from a 1-star Michelin establishment, this menu was accompanied by a parade of spectacular 'entre-mets' to delight and cleanse the palate. The atmosphere is relaxed with a spectacular fireplace and the service is friendly and efficient. A memorable evening brought to us by the talented, young chef Edoardo Fumagalli.

The restaurant La Piazzetta is located in the heart of Argegno, and it is the result of the cohesion between tradition and innovation. Our chief aim is the satisfaction of our clientele. First and foremost, here you can find simple dishes, top-notch produ
My friend and I stopped in one evening while in Argegno for just a desert and coffee having been out that day touring Bellagio and already having a feast of a lunch. We were drawn into La Piazzeta by a gentleman who we observed throughout the hour we were there greeting visitors walking by hoping to use his charm to lure them into the establishment. We asked before hand if it was OK to just have a coffee and desert since we already had a large lunch and we were told that it would be fine. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. We were promptly seated outside hoping to people watch, but the large planters surrounding the outdoor seating area blocked the view of the small plaza. We proceeded to order a cuppachino, coffee americano, water and two tiramisu. PLEASE NOTE - this review is less about the quality of food served then it is about the value of what you get and their business practices. The rating of the tiramisu was a toss up...one person thought it OK the other person thought it tasted like it was a few days old. The real shocker came when the bill arrived.... 27 Euros !!! For so little food and drink I can only imagine what one would be paying for dinner !!! You better bring 100s of Euros if you donât want to end up washing dishes to pay off your debt. How can one justify a service charge of 6 Euros for two people to just sit down for basically a cup of coffee ??? Better to drive down to Como and sit out on the glorious roof top of the Como Hilton and enjoy the same, but better quality deserts , for less money along with AMAZING music and views.... and you can charge your bill !!!Thatâs right, adding insult to injury...we were informed that we could not charge the bill to our credit card because ..â the machine was brokenâ ..... please.... how old a line is this for establishments to avoid paying the small credit card fee. Why not just post a sign in front of your restaurant clearly saying.... CASH ONLY ? That way guests can decide whether to eat there BEFORE sitting down.Lastly.... I had to laugh when the bill arrived . Along with the bill there was a printed card in Italian ...which I was unable to translate but it had TripAdvisor in bold letters.....Iâm assuming it was a card encouraging guests to submit reviews ...the owner clearly understood the power of Trip Advisor in guiding customers in their dining decision. All I can say is.... look elsewhere if you seek quality dining with value pricing and service. Remember, reviews from customers who enter seeking just a coffee and desert should matter just as much as customers coming in for a three course meal.
