Although we hadn't booked and it was a very busy Sunday lunchtime, we were immediately offered a table without even having to wait. The food is substantial mountain fare, very tasty and plentiful. The service was very efficient and with a smile, despite the restaurant being busy with big parties.Ideal for families with young children as it also offers a big garden for them to run around in and a little play area. Views are stunning from all sides! A very cosy little grotto not to be missed!

If you want to taste the real authentic Northern Italian Alpine food (means heavy butter, cheese, rustic style, not particular fine food but more heavy big portion comfort food), come to Crotto da Gusto. Like me I am not a particular fan of mountain food, but I will come once a year just to enjoy the total package: atmosphere and the comfort food together with friends. For a set menu (you can't choose) of 27 euros you will have appetizers (cold cuts), two types of polenta (I am not a fan but I will eat small qty, when you are there you will feel the atmosphere and eat like me), one with pork saussage and one with heavy chesse and butter, then the typical pasta dish pizzoccheri which is made with buckwheat and 3 to 4 meat dishes of chicken, beef, rabbit and sometimes lamb, afterwards cheese and 2, 3 different kinds of pies, coffee and liquor. Wine and water are offered without stop. Remember to call for reservation.

We stumbled upon this treasure of a restaurant on our way back from Lake Lugano. It is a cosy little restaurant nestled in the middle of picturesque surroundings of mountains. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. There is a small family run business feel to it. Some of the diners clearly frequented the restaurant regularly. The food is very good and prices are reasonable. Well worth visiting if youâre planning a visit to Lake Como.

We found this wonderful place by accident having been to the nearby supermarkets. Tucked some 100 metres up a side road it was almost full when we arrived just after midday on a chilly February day. There was an option of a set lunch (which we chose) or the normal menu. The set lunch menu offered three seperate choices on each course so in itself was almost a mini menu. The options change each day.Simply put, the meal was of a very good standard, well cooked and exceptional value for money.Needless to say, lunch here is now going to be an integral part of our shopping trips.

The road up (and back) sometimes has you wondering if you've made the right decision. Trust me, you have. The view of Lake Lugano is breathtaking. But that's not why you're here. 5 courses plus coffee and Grappa makes for a serious 3 hour dining experience. Come early and introduce yourselves to the cows who make the butter and the cheese. Everything (except the bottomless pitcher of wine...a delicious Barbera di Puglia) is from the farm. Delicious antipasto of meats, cheesy buttery polenta and lasagna, roast beef, rabbit, and chicken with more polenta, local cheeses, berries in an elderflower sauce with espresso and Grappa. 25 Euro per person.THIS ONLY HAPPENS ON SUNDAY!!!!Make the drive, but promise me you won't tell anyone else about this place. This was our third visit in the last six years. We were told today that they have developed a new website, so the 'cat is out of the bag'. Enjoy.

Its was the wifes Birthday and first day in Polezza and our cousin had booked us in for a meal. Situated a little way out of town seems everyone drivers except us who walked but we were ready for our meal when we got there.Nice setting for a meal big outdoor eating area and also could eat inside the food was very good the only thing that let it down was our waitress who was grumpy and was trying to rush us as she appeared to want to go. There was no interaction.

We were staying in Porlezza overnight to break our journey from lake Como to lake Lugano. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to trattoria della vigna - itâs truly a hidden gem! The restaurant was busy, yet still relaxing and romantic in the evening. The food was extremely tasty and the service was efficient yet welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting - we booked via the phone in the morning.

Cute Cafè, taste good wines, breakfasts, sandwiches, ice creams. Our superior wines come from Piemonte, Friuli and Tuscany
My mother and I (Australians) were here for 2 nights. Spent a whole day coming to this bar/restaurant. Brilliant service, coffee and croissant in the morning, afternoon drinks. Service was brilliant, prices excellent. A must do in this beautiful little town. So peaceful and a place to recharge the batteries. Donât go to busy Bellagio. Stay here and take the bus there for a few hours, then stay here. Much more authentic â¤ï¸
