.....such a nice place for lunch in such a small town? We stopped here because it was very conveniently midway between Toledo and Cuenca and because the restaurant shares a parking lot with a few windmills, which were worth seeing but much less spectacular than those in Consuegra. It's a bit difficult to find, as it's at the back side of town, but the view from the top of the town and the very high quality food/decor made it worth the effort. Would have given it 5 stars if the service had been a bit quicker and more enthusiastic, and if they hadn't let a few children run around making noise part of the time. Oh, and the parking lot isn't paved, so beware.
If you're in this area and looking for a higher end dining experience, this is a good bet!

The restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives just outside the town.
This restaurant is run by the Sanchez-Camacho family. It has been furnished very tastefully and offers a main restaurant area plus private rooms and also intimate alcoves within hollowed wine casks.
We visited on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Ramon the owners son is also the Sommelier. He recommended a superb selection of wines and after dinner brandy to compliment the wonderful food cooked by his brother Reuben. I ate goat for the first time and the meat literally fell away from the bone.
The attention we received was second to none. Later Ramon the owner spent time with us and we were invited to look around the wine cellar.
I would recommend Bodegon to any visitor in the area.
I read an earlier review commenting that it is hard to find. There is now a prominent sign and is within 3 mins walk of both the main bus station and the main square which is also delightful.

An average meal for a high price. There are better places in Ciudad Real other than this place. The quality of the food does not justify the price we paid. The ambiance was quite average as well.

Dna Carmen and Dn Antonio have a very nice restaurant which is so unpretentious that you easily overlook it when approaching the city square; it´s only 100 m away from it. Good reviews in Tripadvisor and hunger made us look for Casa Antonio. The menu del dia for just 12 EUR offered a much larger choice than other restaurants. Dna Carmen patiently explained her offers and it sounded already mouthwatering. As starters we choose "Crepe de crema de Morcilla" and "Verduras salteadas Gratinadas", the main course was "Lomo de Orza + Solomillo a la Miel" (actually half a portion/ea because I wanted to taste both), Bacalao al PilPil was the other main course, Mousse de Limon concluded the meal. A glass of wine or mineral water are included in the price of the Menu. In summary: Restaurante Casa Antonio is well worth a visit and stands out of the competition because Dna Carmen and her team prepare food with a greater level of choice and perfection which we were happy to enjoy. The restaurant is small and you should reserve or simply show-up early - which foreigners like to do anyway (but not before 13:30h please)

Welcome to a new food experience.
When I was first told about this "university cafeteria" that is exactly what I expected: cafeteria food. I was wonderfully surprised by amazing quality of the food and the variety (both in the standard menu of the day as well and in the daily specials) - so far beyond cafeteria level! And all for an amazing price and very friendly/quick service. You only need to go there once and you'll be sure to come back any time you are in the area - I certainly have!

Jesús Marquina, a renowned Spanish pizza chef (with several international awards) has built an oasis a bit off the beaten path. He and his excellent and professional crew offer an extensive menu, with ingredients that no one could imagine that, together, could be so satisfactory (pomegranate, Greek yoghourt, partridge, marinated tuna, rocket) Their size is enormous, so a pizza could be perfectly shared by two. Everything is a tribute to La Mancha (land of excellent food and universal artists) Of course, the wine list is to die for. Grappa lovers? This is your place for sure. Some vintage grappas in their list are amongst the rarest in Spain. No need to worry if you are not fond of pizza. Other delicacies are served; for example, 'carpaccios', salads, home made pastas, rice dishes, roasted meats, desserts... Children are welcome and they have a special menu for them.
I will come back.

A very nice oli mill converted in a lovely restaurant. Excellent artesanal beers, good food, service to improve to stay at the restaurant level. Lovely next-door food store with the beers, excellent paté, wine and, obviously, the "oil"! ... a gourmet place to go!
