This is worth visiting. As all good Abruzzesi food, it is seasonal and delicious. This restaurant is one recommended by locals, and it is usually pretty busy. Ravioli, stuffed with pecorino, served with a walnut dressing (autumn), or wild boar cutlets, from a tender young thing......Reasonable prices, friendly, bustling and enjoyable in every respect. Give it a go!

Little restaurant at the top of the cable car (cestovia) for the grotte del cavallone. We (5 people) all had very good food (e.g. local specialites like arrosticini and "Pallotte cacio e ovo") for a very reasonable price.

This restaurant has a set menu which covers every main food. It offers entree and main course via a selection of 4 or 5 items. All served with carafe wine. There are extras available but if you stick to the main sheet you are in for excellent value and a satisfying meal. You can stray onto a limited dessert list and also there is a full bar. For the price it is extremely good value. The hostess is a very pleasant and happy lady.

La Grotta is unique as part of it is inside a small cave. This cave and the ret of the restaurant is beautifully finished off and well decorated and lit. One must mention the toilets as being the best toilets I have every had the good fortune to visit. We, a party of 6, dined the the cave section surrounded by dozens of bottles of wine. The menu was not extensive but covered the main Italian food groups. We did ask about specials and were offered one or two dishes of something off menu. I messed up and ordered steak, I should have been more local. The food everyone had must have been extremely good based on the comments around the table. Plus the wines both red and white we delicious. When our waiter nor the owner, both of whom had limited english, could not answer a question the english speaking chef was called to our table. In conclusion for those of us used to paying city prices for 5 star service you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are ever within 100 kilometres of this restaurant please go.

Four of us had the territorio menu. Tastes of the local specialities of Abruzzo. Start to finish it was excellent. Service top notch. Friendly and not stuffy. We chose our own wines and the waiter steered us to another wine, surprisingly it was less in cost than the one we had chosen. Proof that, to them, it matters more that the wine match your food perfectly than making a profit. And to Reviewer Andrei, who disingenuously said only French food rated Michelin stars, he is a snob and has no palate. He wouldnât know quality food if it hit him in the face.

Located in the historic centre of the village, just 200 meters within walking distance from the legendary Medieval Castle, Civico 20 boasts unique views of the watch tower and the Majella Mountain. Our outdoor veranda is the ideal place to sit and enjoy l
The food at Civico 20 is excellent, highlighting ingredients and dishes of Abruzzo. The setting is magical, with a postcard-perfect view of the Roccascalegna Castle from the terrace. Inside the restaurant is also well designed, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. English is spoken. Plenty of vegetarian options. We have been here several times, but not nearly enough!Dear gaildash!Thank you so much for your review and words af appreciation...we love to welcoming our Guests and to take care of all different dietary needs while respecting the abruzzese traditional cuisine. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.Happy Easter and...Arrivederci from Roccascalegna!!!Valentina & Nico

On June 6, 2018, our party of 5 adults ate at Agriturismo L'Alveare. Cosimo did an outstanding job treating us so kindly and to an exquisite dining experience with wine, many courses and a variety and an abundance of delicious foods and dessert! The presentation was also beautifully done. We truly had an outstanding, long-lasting and memorable experience!

If you like char-grilled steaks, you'll love it here as they're the house speciality. Massive (actually, *too* massive) antipasti selection. Good house wine. Friendly welcome. Exceptionally nice indoor surroundings. Comfortable. Tables not too close together. Massive carpark. But service can creak a bit when it's busy.

After a short trip to Italy eating in 6 different restaurants, this had without doubt the best pasta by some distance.I had the mushroom Ravioli with Truffle and the flavours were to die for. I'd have it again tomorrow. The restaurant itself is lovely and quaint, offering a wide range of wines & beers to buy from their stock.Complimentary spirits at the end were the icing on the cake.
