Freshly caught and grilled sea-bream is hard to beat, my daughter had the black gnocchi, I the fish, and with two glasses of excellent Cal. Poggio di Venere Grillo, we were more than happy. The decor is completely kitsch, but the staff are friendly, the service impeccable. Will certainly return!

Amazingly, but the waiter hugs and kisses with every second guest, so we could see that the place is really loved by locals. Surprisingly enough that the restaurant was half empty on Friday night because we liked everything from start to finish: prompt and friendly service, vast choice of Sicilian specialities, especially seafood and freshly caught fish. Do not miss this place when visiting Catania.

This is not the type of place you expect to find in Sicily, and certainly constitutes an excellent break from the typical Sicilian food (excellent as well, but totally different). The owner has courageously proposed a niche offering fully based on quality and taste. The selection of wines (French, of course) is wide, and the owner welcomes the opportunity to run you through the different choices in order to select the most suitable one, also considering the price aspect; we wanted a glass each, and he recommended to get a bottle and take away what we did not consume, excellent idea which let us keep enjoying that very smooth and elegant Tempete de Saveurs he helped us choose. The food was very good, we shared a cheese selection (which he described in detail) and each had a main course (Coq au vin and "petto di pollastra" filled with Foie Gras) and a dessert; I also enjoyed the bread and (excellent) butter. For the two of us we spent ⬠90, not cheap but this is not the small local trattoria around the corner. The place is small and welcoming, an intimate atmosphere (he offered to have a candlelight dinner, but I like to see what I am eating) very different from the average urban environment of the street outside; the service was attentive and cordial, and I appreciated the passion the owner shows in describing his original (and courageous, I would say) business proposition in Catania - he sounded knowledgeable about the foods and wines from France that he offers, a useful guidance to appreciate the specific items in the menu. Whatâs not to like at this wonderful restaurant. We had read many reviews before selection it as the only restaurant at which we would be able to enjoy dinner.It did not disappoint. Both food and service were exceptional. Even had the opportunity to talk with the owner for awhile. Snapper in potatoe crust, a fantastic raw seafood platter- perhaps the best we experienced in Sicily. Pasta with swordfish bites and clams.Grilled seafood platter. An excellent wine list. A totally amazing experience. Not to be missed in Catania.My dear there is occasionally some incomprehensible review but the passion with which we work finally manages to win over everything. We went and asked for a wine not available, our first choice meal was not available and the pasta dishes we both had were bland to ok. Oh and they donât take credit cards revealed at payment time. 6 euro meals for 14.Dear KenB, i think you might have confused restaurant with another nearby as we do accepet credit cards payment and everything you can find on the menù is always available,also the day of your visit (Tuesday) is our day off.Lastly we please you to ckeck again your review as is the only negative one in our profile :)Thank you so much in advance from 95100, we wish you to see you anytime soon next time you visit Sicily!

This is a small restaurant with quality and style. Food is wonderful and extremely well presented on plate. Some lovely wines too. Service was at right pace and professional. Only negative comment is that lighting seemed a little bright and ambience would be better with different lighting.

We just discovered this cozy restaurant by walking through the Market in Piazza Carlo Alberto. We liked the outdoor, the dishes written on a black board and we decided to come for dinner. The atmosphere is authentic and the design very well finished. The owner welcomed us warmly and gave us the best table next to the window. Thanks to his genuine advice, we had a big tasting plate of typical fish appetizers, a beautiful tuna with Tropea candied onions, Swordfish involtini and a succulent Tortino with warm heart of pistachio cream! Delicious!The choice of the wine as well was perfect thanks to Antonioâs advice. We talked with him about our trip in Sicily and he gave us nice suggestions! We really had great time and great food! Highly recommended both for lunch and dinner! Good Morning!All our Staff is really proud for reading this review because it is genuine!
