Things to do in Caltagirone
Bistrot of typical Sicilian cuisine in the historic center of Caltagirone. Here you can have a tasty and rich aperitif, have lunch and dinner with a la carte menu, drink a good wine or enjoy a cocktail of excellent quality.
tonight we ate at a hidden perl in Caltagirone ... Memà .. a restaurant with Sicilian tapas, but they also serve delicious burgers. All in all, a wine bar and restaurant that you really should visit if you are in town. The service is very welcoming and helpful and give you the hospitality that you really want.

A restaurant that prides in traditional Sicilian food including a starter of red tunafish arranged in the shape of the map of Sicily. The setting is pleasant, especially in the garden. A large variety of dishes and wines. The cooking is percise, the owner is very attentive and the service is good. Highly recommended

Fairly basic pizzeria and taverna. Nothing special. But to be fair, it is reasonably priced and the food is ok. One pizza, one pasta dish, a beer & a coke for around 20 euros isn't bad so if you're on a budget maybe it is worth seeking out in it's neither here nor there location between Caltagirone's old and new towns. And it does have free wifi too. But personally I wouldn't recommend it.Â

Sicilian restaurant in the historic center of Caltagirone, traditional cuisine revisited with inspiration and creativity.
The place is a bit hidden away from the main streets but if you have found it you wonât be disappointed. I really can recommend the starter il rustico, everything was freshly cooked and tasted delicious, the pasta dishes are lovely too. The staff is friendly and attentive, definitely recommended

We enjoyed a lovely lunch experience at A Cumacca, where we found a short, authentically-prepared menu and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. A Cumacca is casual and unpretentious, serving good food on biodegradable plates. Host Enzo and his small staff made great effort to provide us with good food and offered many personal touches so that we felt at home and comfortable. Their prices were also very reasonable. This was one of our favorite meals in Sicily.

the trattoria Anima e Coreis in the heart of the historical center of Caltagirone and offers specialties of meat and fish dishes all prepared according to the rules of the traditional Sicilian cuisine
If you've made it to Caltagirone (to buy heads!), then you could do far worse than eat here. The food is, as always, impeccably sourced and made, but what makes the place is the friendly/welcoming environment created by the hosts. Take your cues from your hosts - ignore the menu, and work out what you should be eating based on what they recommend. The process might be involved, getting into what you've already had, what you like, etc., but it'll be worth it - if not for anything else, then just for the convo Good times!

... last evening, probably the best meal weâve had travelling in Italy for the past 8 weeks ... a small restaurant, maybe 8-10 tables, named Al Saracino in Caltagirone ... my wife had slow cooked breaded veal with mushroom, rolled in a croquette fashion; I had Iberian pork with breaded hazelnuts; both meals accompanied with roast potatoes; for the appetiser - oranges, with sour apple, red onion, kipper & two tempura shrimp - delicious combination of flavours!! ... a glass of a Sicilian red, finished off with a chocolate mousse & an espresso ... excellent cuisine, fresh ingredients, elegant presentation and an owner/waiter who was very friendly, and explained all the options in great English ...

If you visit Caltagirone, a dinner at his restaurant is compulsory. This One Star Michelin Restaurant offered us 8 small and big dishes, all of them utterly good. The service was professional and the wine was good. The meal was very inexpensive regarding it is One Star Michelin.

This place is the ultimate Sicilian treat! No menu !!! Simply whatever the owner deems the freshest most delectable local produce at the time. Mostly charcuterie type plates âSalvatoreâ keeps delivering until you are sated. Ridiculously inexpensive with some good wines on offer as well this little gem is an epicurean delight. Itâs the smallest most authentic Sicilian restaurant we have ever found and will be a return favorite always.
