the restaurant is positioned in the basement, giving a feeling of a large ancient tavern. We were here on a pre-wedding Spanish dinner. Very lively, noisy, children roaming around, couleur local. Large portions, good food, great wine, Friendly service.

Excellent food, very good value for money and efficient service. The only missing thing is a smile, which would have made the experience memorable. When you bring your kids, a pleasant waiter/waitress can make a difference. Otherwise highly recommendable

An evening we will most remember for the extended French family domestic taking place two tables away, also featured good, simple food. Local ham, a soup of game and beans and some grilled lamb. Dessert was an over-solid flan but you can't win them all. Large, fair wine list, good coffee.

Visiting charming Morella always brings us to try migas at Casa Roque. This day they were full and with very bad manners we were told to go way. Insisting on our wish to introduce our guests from the US to migas we were told go to El Pastor. Once we sat there the owner proceeded to tell us they do not prepare migas because it would be what other restaurants do and they have a very distinctive menu!! Their croquetas Morellanas were OK and the chicken escabeche salad very good. The main dishes however were uneven. The grilled secreto iberico good , the lamb chops too dry. Yet , the owner was not very friendly and we were treated almost displicently even though there were only three tables occupied. The well appointed restaurant leaves you cold giving the impression that tourists are just tolerated. Maybe it is not so but that is the way it came out. The prices were OK and the house wine acceptable, much more so than the cuajada Morellana. Too sweet.

We have the feeling to have had a great lunch in this place. The price is according to the quality and it is not expensive comparing with the other places nearby. The menu is not updated with the prices so we had some misunderstanding that they solved it out in a good manner. I recommend this place, we tried "ternasco" and "hojaldre de rabo de toro" both were great. The waitress is not Spanish and we could have the understanding problem because of the language. But she treated us in a good way and gave a good service.

Casa Roque, is the same as saying, Roque, Carlos, Concha: Father, mother and son, are in addition to catering, the best public relations and sellers Morella in particular and Castellon in general.Casa Roque has projected the name of our province and our c
Four of us visited this restaurant having noted that most reviews were in Spanish. This attracted us as we did not want a "Kentucky Fried Chicken" experience. We were not disappointed, the food was of excellent quality and at a very acceptable price. The wine was fine local, Penedes, at a price NEVER found in the U.K., very reasonable. The service was pleasant with very little English spoken which meant that we did not always know what we had ordered, but we were in no way disappointed. We just went with the flow and had a superb lunch. Will we return? You bet!

We were going around in Valencia to find place to have dinner, but didn't like the one we saw, then I remember we passed by one earlier. We went back and it turned to be a good choice. We had a quiet romantic dinner - got free vermut to start with, and free arroz de bomba liquer later. The food was plentyful and nice. The service was also great. Especially the local soup was great!

The Fonda Restaurant is placed in the historic centre of Morellaâs village. We offer Morellaâs gastronomy made with local ingredients, raised in the pastures of the village. Our cuisine is not very sophisticated, we prefer highlighting natural flavours an
We came to Morella for the 'Sexenni' celebrations, the 10 days of processions, incredible street decorations and fiestas which happen only once every 6 years and attract thousands of visitors every single day.It was hard to book a restaurant anywhere. Everywhere was packed. In the end we were lucky to get a table for the family for a second sitting at La Fonda at 15.15, fearing the worst from a culinary perspective at a big event like this.We could not have been more mistaken. This 'small' intimate restaurant spread over several floors had planned intelligently. There was only one Sexenni set menu at 30⬠excluding drinks which initially seemed expensive until they started serving the food. The 4 starters were all to share: a cheese and ham platter, salad with pear & gorgonzola, croquetas and mini cold potatoes with a two different fillings. There was a choice of 3 main courses. The lamb was melt-in-mouth and the squid with an accompanying broad bean, black pudding and fennel mix was both original and excellent as was the crisp brownie-based dessert with yogurt ice cream.Afterwards we met two of the chefs relaxing in the street who told us they were only 4 in the kitchen. This was their 7th day non-stop with two sittings for lunch and dinner for at least 65 people for each. A real miracle to achieve this quality of food and service. Sincerest congratulations!

It was our wedding anniversary and we thought it would be nice to have a wander around Morella and get something to eat. We hadn't been there before and all our friends said it was lovely. We always use TripAdvisor to help chose our restaurant in a new place, and we were going to eat at no. 1 but it was closed. And we're so glad it was! This place is vibrant and modern with food to match. We had the tasting menu. There was no choice on courses and everything came out beautifully presented; the seafood was in shells on a blue stone filled plate and it went on. Being English, we will never get used to the Spanish love of pigs' trotters. As there wasn't any choice we just let the courses come out and we didn't read the menu properly. I wish we had as the main meat dish was trotters and we didn't eat it. Had we realised we would have asked for a substitution. That aside, every dish from start to finish was amazing and beautifully presented with little details such as edible flowers and sauces served in rocks.I'm not sure how good their English is as we speak enough Spanish but the waiter who served us said that he was keen to learn. Highly recommended!

Try this restaurant. Great food, great service. We had the set menu where you get an amazing array of starters. I had the venison as my main course and the Morella style pudding was a revelation. Muchas gracias por su comentario, es muy agradable saber que les gustó nuestra comida.Muchas gracias.
