We came across with this restaurant while walking in the Jewish neighborhood, we didnt know anything about it before, but menu seemed interesting. We were surprised of the quality!! We had black pudding and pine nuts croquettes, "Torta del Casar", "chuletón", puffed pastry ("milhojas") and brownie, all delicious and one of the best diner in my life. Restaurant is very warm and stuff very friendly with good recommendations for wine. Thanks for surprising us so positively and the wonderful diner.Attention: sunday evening is closed (we went back again but this time it was, unfortunately, closed)
Where to eat Mediterranean food in Hervas: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Restaurant in downtown Hervas, near the famous Jewish quarters, with kitchen and author Extremadura, Extremadura retinto meats grilled, homemade desserts all very elavorados, seasonal cuisine.Recommended by Michelin Guide for northern Extremadura
This is my experience of Spain. You are in the north and you get incredibly good value--a 3 course meal with wine and coffee for 15-20 euros. As you head south, the prices increase. Here in the hills, I had a 3 course meal and wine but the price rose to 50 euros. A salad for starter, jamon iberico with plum source on slices of apple for the main course, and a brownie for pudding. Fine, but far from exceptional, and billed by the owner who couldn't be bothered to exchange a word as he did the card stuff, and the restaurant was all but empty. So if I was you, i would go for the cheap places where they serve raciones.

We were looking for somewhere for a good lunch on a day when many other Hervas restaurants were closed. The dining room felt modern and comfortable. Two set menus were available and a varied A la Carte. We enjoyed the choices from the Menu of the Day - all given a little foodie twist to lift them above the mundane. Service was excellent and a popular choice with others. It seems to be called La Parrilla not Jose Raul Granada, however!
