Find out what European restaurants to try in Burgos. Burgos (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbuɾɣos], UK: /ˈbʊərɡɒs/, US: /ˈbʊərɡoʊs/) is a city in northern Spain and the historic capital of Castile. It is situated on the confluence of the Arlanzón river tributaries, at the edge of the Iberian central plateau. It has about 180,000 inhabitants in the actual city and another 20,000 in the metropolitan area. It is the capital of the province of Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Burgos was once the capital of the Crown of Castile, and the Burgos Laws or Leyes de Burgos which first governed the behaviour of Spaniards towards the natives of the Americas were promulgated here in 1512.

This lively tapas bar was recommended to us - and the large number of diners in the place reinforced the idea it was as popular as anywhere to lunch in Burgos. I had the fish soup, which was recommended by the waiter. It was good, and sustaining, though I was a bit miffed they charged extra for the bread. In retrospect though I wish I had picked from the list of tapas/raciones, as there were lots of interesting options on offer. One of our party did so and was very pleased with his selections. Prices perhaps a tad on the high side.

The place offers good food like almost everywhere in Burgos, their raciones and platillos are a bit more elaborate than others around them, the price is correct, expect â¬14 if you order raciones. However the service was not foot when we visited, the ratio waiter to customer was not adequate.

A place with craft beer on tap, heavy rock music and great food! Perfect place if you like that big three. Highly recommended!

I've been in Burgos for a week for work traipsing around town to find a place I like and where the food is good. Finally found it on my last evening here! It's got a bit of an alternative independent vibe with good music. Lovely atmosphere with some comfy armchairs by the window, and great down- to- earth friendly staff. The menu looks appetising and doesn't disappoint. Certainly best food I've had in Burgos at reasonable prices. Good for vegetarians too! I'd highly recommend it but not for the overly conventional. You may not like the music.

We ended up having two leisurely dinners here during our stay in lovely Burgos, once outside while the sun shone one evening and one in a cosy corner when the wind was blowing off the snow. The staff are friendly, and put up with our limited Spanish graciously. The tapas are very good, particularly the salmon, avocado and tomato stack, the duck 'sausage roll', the octopus and potato and the mini burgers. Drinks are cheap, and there's a good mix of pilgrims and locals filling the place every evening.

Our second time here and again no fault to be found. Quirky decor and beautifully presented food is just the invitation you need to experience the subtle and not-so-subtle flavours of an interesting menu. Starters are consistent with previous visit earlier in the year but the mains were a total change as were the deserts which were a step beyond and as fantastic tasting as they looked. Wish weâd been able to visit again but Christmas got in the way.Thank you very much for your words!!!We take this opportunity to remember that we closed for vacations from January 6 to 14, both included!!!

Lively place at dinner time even on a weekday. Combination of beers, wines and cocktails with a bite to eat. Nice food, some traditional spanish dishes with an original twist, some more worldly. Reasonable prices. Try the salmorejo (cold soup) with tuna tataki and the crispy artichokes.Thank you very much for your kind comments.I hope you enjoy the view of our beautiful city. The "salmorejo" is a typical dish of southern Spain (similar to "gazpacho") very refreshing and that we give it a special touch with tuna. Thanks for your recommendation.See you soon.Whe are #GenteDelNORTE

From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The restaurant is beautifully decorated but unpretentious. Service was friendly and attentive. Everything we ate was delicious! From the chefâs snacks to our main dish,(fish, the house specialty) everything was artfully prepared. We enjoyed the croquetas and the octopus and the rape as a main course. Dessert was also fabulous. This place is a must visit during stay in Burgos.
